Xiaomi 13 Ultra Confirmed to Launch in China on April 2023: Global Launch Confirmed

Xiaomi’s upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone recently cleared Singapore’s IMDA certification hinting that the launch is nearing. The company has now confirmed the launch date of the forthcoming smartphone. The upcoming 13 Ultra smartphone will be the most premium smartphone from Xiaomi in 2023. Xiaomi has already launched the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro smartphones globally. The company also launched the 13 Pro (review) smartphone recently in India. Previously, an alleged poster on Weibo had revealed the smartphone’s launch date. The company has also revealed the global availability of the upcoming device.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra Launch Date and Known Specifications

Leica and Xiaomi together confirmed that they would launch the Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone in China on April 2023. However, the company hasn’t revealed the exact launch date of the smartphone. An alleged poster on Weibo revealed that Xiaomi would launch the smartphone on April 17 in China. Xiaomi also confirmed that they would launch the smartphone in global markets.

The company said that it would launch the smartphone in the coming months. Previously, a tipster tipped that it would launch globally on May 2023. Another tipster tipped that Xiaomi would not launch the smartphone in India. Xiaomi’s flagship smartphones in India have been performing poorly in sales numbers. The Indian consumers in the flagship market are inclined towards Apple and Samsung.

Leica said that the upcoming smartphone would feature a Leica Summicron lens. The statement from Leica tells us that the wide angle lens and telephoto lens would bring support for Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). It also reveals that the lens on the 13 Ultra would have a large aperture, compact size, and high imaging performance. In the optics department, the device is tipped to feature a quad rear camera setup.

The setup would comprise a 50MP Sony IMX 989 sensor with a 1-inch sensor size and OIS. It would be accompanied by a secondary 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a tertiary 50MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. Finally, the setup would also consist of another 50MP periscope telephoto camera with support for 10x optical zoom. Xiaomi will equip the same 32MP selfie camera inside the punch-hole in the display with the 13 Ultra.

The upcoming Xiaomi 13 Ultra is tipped to sport a 6.7 inches AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution. The display would support LTPO technology with refresh rates varying from 1 to 120Hz. Under the hood, it will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset built on a 4nm process. The chipset would pair with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The smartphone would have a 4900 mAh battery with 90W fast charging support.
