Xiaomi is reportedly working on the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series smartphones. The company will likely launch the vanilla 14 and 14 Pro models in November or December in China. The global launch of the smartphones is expected to be in Q1 of 2024. The OEM will also launch an Ultra variant in the second quarter of 2024. Xiaomi expected to launch India Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone in the first quarter of 2024.
The Chinese OEM hasn’t launched the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphones in India for various reasons. The upcoming flagship smartphones from Xiaomi were recently spotted in the IMEI database revealing the model numbers. Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster, had previously revealed some of the key specifications of the upcoming smartphones. The tipster shared a new post on Weibo showing the forthcoming devices’ battery specifications.
Xiaomi 14 Series Tipped Specifications
The latest post from Digital Chat Station reveals that the company will equip the vanilla 14 with a 4860 mAh battery. The device will support 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging tech. The tipped battery size and fast charging speeds significantly improved from the vanilla Xiaomi 13, which came with a smaller 4500 mAh battery and 67W wired fast charging support.
The upcoming Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphone will also feature a larger 5000 mAh battery with support for 120W wired fast charging tech. The Pro variant will also get support for 50W wireless charging tech. In contrast, the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a smaller 4820mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The tipster recently revealed that Xiaomi will continue to equip its upcoming flagship smartphones with a 1-inch primary sensor.
The IMEI listing revealed the Chinese and Global variants of the 14 Pro would have the model numbers 23116PN5BC and 23116PN5BG. The vanilla 14 will feature the model numbers 23127PN0CC and 23127PN0CG for the Chinese and Global units. The C and G in the model numbers denote Chinese and Global variants.
The launch months of the upcoming smartphones were tipped from the model numbers. The codenames of the upcoming smartphones are Houji and Shennong in China. These codenames indicate that the company aims to improve the user experience of its users. The codenames are similar to its predecessors, Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, which had Fuxi and Nüwa as codenames.
The company would equip WLG High-Lens sensors to improve the performance of the camera sensors. Previously, DCS revealed that the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series smartphones would feature improved optical zoom capabilities. Both smartphones are tipped to feature a periscope sensor, improving the zooming capabilities.
The tipster adds that the vanilla model will support 3.9x optical zoom and will sport a 90mm focal length sensor. In contrast, the Pro variant is tipped to support 5x optical zoom and a 115m focal length sensor. The upcoming Xiaomi 14 series smartphones will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
