Chinese smartphones major Xiaomi is all set to announce its budget Android smartphone, the Redmi Note 8 Pro in India, on October 16 at an event in Delhi. While this handset is slated to bring a lot of new features to the table, what has suddenly got the attention of all MI fans is the news that this device could be the first Xiaomi smartphone in India to ship with MIUI 11 preloaded. In case you aren’t aware, MIUI 11 is the latest iteration of Xiaomi’s own custom UI that runs atop the standard Android core.

MIUI 11 India announcement; What we know

At this time, we are not sure if the phone itself would come preloaded with MIUI 11 or if the company would share the details of MIUI 11 at the launch event and later issue a software update for the device to graduate it to MIUI 11. All said, it is essential to note that Xiaomi has already started pushing MIUI 11 updates in China to several of its older handsets, including the Redmi 7, the Redmi Note 7, the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the POCO F1, and the Redmi K20. It is also plausible that Xiaomi will announce the list of devices that stand to get the official nod for MIUI 11.

As far as MIUI 11 goes, this version will come with a series of features and system updates. These include a system-wide dark mode, support for new sound effects, and the new Mi Go and Mi Work suites. Xiaomi will reveal the additional features that will come with MIUI11 in the next few days.
