Back in May announced the rollout of MIUI 12 Global stable update, but the company held the update for devices like Redmi 7, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, and Redmi Y3 for the second phase. It was promised by the company that the smartphones will receive the update in the second phase. But it seems that Xiaomi is not loyal to the promise as the company has officially confirmed that these devices will not receive the MIUI 12 Global update. According to the company, these phones are not compatible with the update and it might cause performance issues with the devices.
“Hello Mi Fans,
Please note that the following device models originally included in MIUI 12 release schedule won’t be updated to MIUI 12 due to compatibility and performance issues.
Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6
The company has also posted a similar message on MIUI official website. This seems to be very disappointing for the users of the aforementioned devices. Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3 is around 19 months old and Xiaomi didn’t find this device worthy enough for the update.
“Please note that the following device models originally included in MIUI 12 release schedule won’t be updated to MIUI 12 due to compatibility and performance issues. Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6,” reads the Xiaomi MIUI official website post.”
According to the company they have already tested the MIUI 12 update on Redmi Y2 in some regions and face performance issues with devices. Just to let you know Redmi Y2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, which is inferior in terms of performance when compared to Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset that is equipped on Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3.
