Almost all smartphone brands are looking forward to capitalizing on the fact that 5G is soon going to be the new trend in the smartphone market. Xiaomi, India’s largest smartphone brand, is among the brands that have already launched a few 5G phones, and it is ready to launch even more such devices next year.  In China, 5G has already started becoming a norm as more than 9 million 5G pre-bookings across the country have already happened, with the numbers increasing each passing day.

The Redmi K30 series from the company, which will reportedly come with 5G connectivity, is right around the corner. There will be a lot of other smartphone models from Xiaomi, at least in markets where 5G has begun rolling out to consumers.

Xiaomi Confirms Up to 10 5G Smartphones in 2020

Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, in a recent interview in China, has confirmed that it plans to launch at least ten new 5G smartphones in the year 2020. While 5G is not something completely new for Xiaomi, with it already selling the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G and the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G in the high-end segment, it looks like the company wants to bring 5G to in the mid-range segment. The Redmi K30 series, which will be a high-end yet affordably priced smartphone series, will be just the beginning.

Although there is no official confirmation yet, we can very well expect the company to launch 5G variants of almost all its mobile phone series, including the Redmi K30 series, Mi MIX 4, and the upcoming Mi MIX, and the Mi 10 lineup. Furthermore, the company has also claimed that it is already looking out for potential markets globally. India is one of the hotspot markets for Xiaomi and the K30 series is already one of the most anticipated devices among Indian consumers.

As of now, there is no word as to what the names of the devices will be. And there is no declared or defined rollout plan by the company, but we can very well expect to get further intel on the topic in the coming months as the launch date of the Redmi K30 series approaches.

Xiaomi Redmi K30 Series To Feature 5G Variants

Speaking of the Redmi K30, the device is letting go of a pop-up selfie camera for a completely bezel-less screen in favor of a dual punch-hole display. The design approach of adopting a punch-hole layout for the selfie camera will be noticeable with many upcoming 5G smartphones, Take the upcoming HONOR V30 and the OnePlus 8 as an example.

Other than the display of the device, the rest of the specifications are still unknown, but the world of rumors suggests that the Redmi K30 will make use of either the MediaTek M70 chipset or the upcoming Snapdragon 700 series of chipsets (as a matter of fact, it could very well be possible that both the processors are utilized as there would be a standard variant and a Pro variant in the series).
