Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra smartphone in the country on April 23rd. Mi 11 Ultra is the company’s most ambitious phone to date, and that’s the reason Xiaomi India has been calling it a SuperPhone in all launch teasers. The Mi 11 Ultra packs absolutely cutting-edge tech, be it a 1/1.12″ 50MP rear camera, 67W fast wireless charging, or a secondary rear display. The inclusion of such hardware means a hefty price tag too. In one of the launch teasers on Facebook, a user commented and said,

Amazing looking very good Device Mi 11 Ultra
I think price 40k-50k Approx.

In response to the user’s comment, Xiaomi India Head, Mr. Manu Jain said,

ROFL

I always get amused by how people want a more than Rs.1 lakh specs
but are willing to pay only 40k.

Sir - even if you look at international prices, it is 70K+.
Plus add the tax difference (India has 18% GST). Plus other costs.

We will definately try and keep it below Rs.1 lakh.

What could be the Mi 11 Ultra price in India?

Mr. Jain says that the price of the Mi 11 Ultra will be under Rs. 1lakh in India, but what would be the actual pricing of the smartphone in the country? Before answering this question, let us have a look at the pricing of Mi 11 Ultra in China and Europe,

Smartphone Memory Storage Price
Mi 11 Ulta
8GB 256GB RMB 5999
(approx Rs. 66,964)
12GB
256GB
RMB 6499
(approx Rs. 72,545)
EUR 1,199
(approx Rs. 1,03,250)
12GB 512GB RMB 6999
(approx Rs. 78,120)

If we recall, Xiaomi Mi 10 India price (Rs. 49,999) was roughly about 20% more compared to the China price. The price difference is due to the fact that Xiaomi India does not have the infrastructure to manufacture premium devices here, so the units are imported in China, resulting in extra taxes. If we assume a similar difference in Mi 11 Ultra China and India price, the base variant could cost somewhere around Rs. 80,000 in India.

Also, a leak suggests that Mi 11 Ultra could be priced around 72-73k mark in India, and the company might just offer the smartphone for Rs. 70,000 (including launch offers) as an introductory offer.
