Xiaomi Mi 9

While the Mi 9’s global launch is scheduled to happen four days from now (on 24 February), Xiaomi has launched it in China today. The company also launched the Mi 9 Transparent Edition and the Mi 9 SE at the same event. A few interesting accessories, including a 20W fast wireless charger, a car charger with 20W wireless charging, and a 10000mAh power bank with 10W wireless charging were also announced.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 succeeds the Mi 8, which was launched last year, and comes with various improvements all around. First and foremost, the phone looks stunning in its new gradient color avatar and the craftsmanship looks much more refined. The Mi 9 also has a Snapdragon 855 processor, up to 12GB RAM, up to 256GB storage, a triple-camera setup at the rear, a 20MP selfie camera, a faster in-screen fingerprint reader, faster 27W wired charging, and 20W fast wireless charging. The high-end variant of the phone has a transparent back, similar to Mi 8’s Explorer Edition.

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Design

The Mi 8 SE can be viewed as a stripped down version of the Mi 8 as it features a slightly slower Snapdragon 712 chipset, a smaller AMOLED screen, and a 3000mAh battery with relatively slower 18W charging. Let us have a look at the pricing of all the Mi 9 series phones and then discuss their features and specifications in detail.

The Mi 9 also features a dedicated Google Assistant button, but in China, Xiao AI will replace Google Assistant. While the phone lacks stereo speakers, Xiaomi claims that its single speaker is much louder and has more depth and bass, thanks to the industry’s best linear speaker and Smart PA amplifier.
