Xiaomi’s Mi Band line up is perhaps the highest selling fitness tracker in the Indian market. And the brand actively launches new models in the series to keep ahead of the competition. While it hadn’t even been four months since the latest fitness tracker from Xiaomi, the Mi Band 4, made its debut, we started hearing about the allegedly upcoming fitness band from the brand – the Mi Band 5.
Now, a few interesting details of the Mi Band 5 have surfaced online. According to a new report from TizenHelp, Xiaomi’s upcoming fitness tracker will have a 1.2-inch display and NFC support (for global markets). The Mi Band 4 features a 0.96-inch screen, so the 1.2-inch display unit in the Mi Band 5 will be a significant upgrade from the one in its predecessor. As for NFC, it is said to enable multiple contactless payment facilities on the device.
The publication also claims that the Mi Band 5 will come with a price tag of CNY 179 in China, and it could most probably be true since most Mi Bands have launched at the same price. While its price for the Indian market is unknown at the moment, you can expect the Mi Band 5 to launch in the country a higher price tag than its predecessor, the Mi Band 4, which costs INR 2,299.
