The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is slowly gaining foothold outside its home turf. As a recent Kantar Worldpanel has revealed, it already has a strong following in Europe. To cement its position further, Xiaomi is apparently planning to launch the Mi MIX 3 and Black Shark Helo in Europe, after introducing the Poco F1, and Redmi Note 6 Pro, and a couple of other phones in recent weeks.
Mi MIX 3 and Black Shark Helo Step Out Of China
In a typical Xiaomi fashion, the Mi MIX 3 and Black Shark Helo were first launched in China. According to a report, both the high-end devices are now tipped to land in Europe. This rumor comes in the heels of a report that said that British telecommunications and internet service provider Three UK has entered into a deal with Xiaomi to introduce the Mi MIX 3 in the UK. The 5G variant of the phone is already confirmed to launch in Europe next year. In addition to that, Three UK is also bringing Mi 8 to the UK. Moreover, the successor to the Black Shark gaming smartphone, Black Shark Helo is also expected to arrive in the UK soon.
Although, no definitive timeline is known, a report has alleged that the Black Shark brand will be introduced globally on November 9, which is today. The official website of Black Shark already says that the global edition of the phone is launching in international markets very soon. On a related note, another report claims that the phone will be released internationally on December 12. As for the Mi MIX 3, we will keep our ears on the ground for a possible launch date and keep you updated.
Apart from the UK, the devices are initially expected to be released in other mainland European markets such as Italy, France, and Spain. There is no word on pricing either, but it will be in line with the price of the phones in China. The Black Shark Helo is pitched at INR 33,485 in the far eastern country, while the MI Mix 3 costs INR 34,511 there.
Premium Devices With Chart-Topping Specifications
Both the smartphones are underpinned by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 and offer up to 10GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. However, the similarities end right there. The Black Shark Helo is a gaming-centric smartphone with a dual cooling system to prevent the phone from heating up during prolonged gaming sessions. It also has a dedicated button which reduces background processes for an immersive gaming experience. On the other hand, the Mi MIX 3 aims to deliver a better everyday user experience and features, an all-screen design, thanks to a pop-up camera that renders the notch cutout useless.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will compete with Honor’s sliding phone; the Honor Magic 2, which has a slightly higher price tag of INR 40,160. On the other hand, the Black Share Helo will duke it out with the likes of Razer Phone 2 and Asus ROG Phone. All the phones feature top of the line specifications, with Asus ROG Phone offering a marginally better performance but Black Shark Helo may undercut it in the market.
For now, the UK residents can get their hands on the Poco F1, which sure offers the customer bang for the bucks.
