Xiaomi Mi TV 4A Pro 49 Gets Android TV 9 Update with Support for Amazon Prime Video and Netflix

Xiaomi has announced it on Twitter that the brand is rolling out Android TV 9 software update to the Mi LED TV 4A Pro (49) in India. To recall, the TV was launched with the Android TV 8 OS. Anyway, along with the new version of the operating system, the software update also brings much-awaited Prime Video and Netflix to the TV. Moreover, the update brings several bug fixes and picture quality optimizations. According to Xiaomi, this is a phased rollout. And therefore, it might take some time to reach all the users.

The Mi TV 4A Pro (49) was launched in September 2018, alongside the Mi TV 4C Pro (32), and the Mi TV 4 Pro (55). The Mi TV 4A Pro (49), as the name suggests, features a 49-inch display. It is a VA panel with a Full HD+ resolution and HDR support. The TV has a 20W speaker setup – a 10W left channel speaker and a 10W right channel speaker. There is support for DTS-HD audio, as well.


The Mi TV 4A Pro (49) is powered by an Amlogic chipset featuring a quad-core 64-bit CPU, and Mali-450 MP3 GPU. Mated to the SoC is 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. As I said earlier, the TV launched with the Android TV 8.0 operating system. On the connectivity front, the Mi TV 4A Pro (49) has three HDMI ports, one AV input, two USB 2.0 ports, one S/PDIF port, one ethernet port, and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

Xiaomi has recently launched four new TVs in India – the Mi TV 4X (65-inch), Mi TV 4X (40-inch), Mi TV 4X (43-inch), and Mi TV 4A (40-inch). Unlike the older models, these new TVs come pre-loaded with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Except for the 40-inch model, the three other TVs also support HDR playback.
