Like Google’s Chromecast or Amazon’s FireTV, Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is also looking at entering the Android TV stick market. The company is reportedly going to announce the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick although it is not known how many markets the product will be launched in. A listing for the Mi TV Stick was seen on Gearbest showing off the design of the device and also the specs that it will have.

Mi TV Stick: Design and expected specifications

As per the listing, the Mi TV Stick will have a compact and sleek form factor than the Mi Box 4K that had been launched earlier this year. The size of the device means that it can be directly plugged into your TVs HDMI port.

The specs of the device seem to have been copied from the Mi Box S, making them unreliable. If they do turn out to be true, however, you can expect an Amlogic S905 Y2 version which has a Mali-G31 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.

The listing also happened to mention that the device will have Google Assistant support along with Netflix while streaming support is going to be up to 4K HDR. The price of the Mi TV Stick is mentioned to be $80 but that may change when the device is actually announced. In India, Xiaomi is currently channeling its efforts to promote its Mi Box 4K but the Mi TV Stick could come in as an affordable option later in the year.
