Xiaomi has started testing MIUI 15 for its internal users. According to the XiaomiUI publication, the first Alpha builds have been spotted on the Xiaomi server. For the uninitiated, Alpha is the very first stage of MIUI testing, where daily builds are released for testers. This hints that Xiaomi has recently started testing the upcoming MIUI interface. According to the screenshot shared by the publication, the Alpha build is being tested on the upcoming Redmi Note 13 series device. This means the Redmi Note 13 series phones could come with the latest MIUI 15 interface preinstalled. Let’s take a look at all information shared in the report.
Redmi Note 13 Series Might Debut MIUI 15 Interface

As you can see in the above screenshot, Xiaomi has started the Alpha testing of its latest MIUI 15 interface. The big version refers to the MIUI version, clearly shown as 15. Additionally, the name shown is 23.5.22 and 23.7.22, these are the dates on which the Alpha builds were rolled out. It means the first version was rolled out on May 22, and the second version was rolled out on July 2. According to the report, the MIUI 15 could be based on both Android 13 and Android 14 OS. This could mean that Xiaomi might roll out MIUI 15 to older devices as well.
Lastly, you can see that the device name is mentioned as garnet_pre. According to XiaomiUI, the garnet is the codename for the upcoming Redmi Note 13 smartphone. A recent leak from ITHome revealed that the Redmi Note 13 had been listed in the IMEI database with the model number 2312DRAABC. However, there is no other information available about the upcoming launch as of now. We will get to know more about the new lineup as we approach the launch date.
Going by Xiaomi’s pattern, we can expect MIUI 15 to arrive this year-end. According to reports, MIUI 15 is expected to come with under-the-hood optimizations, enhanced privacy, enhanced security, predictive back gesture, and regional preferences as well. It’s expected that the MIUI 15 update will land on most Xiaomi devices, including popular ones like Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 11 series, Redmi Note 12 series, Redmi Note 11 series, Redmi K50 series, POCO F5, POCO X5 series, and more.
Currently, there’s no concrete information regarding the features of MIUI 15, as the testing started only a couple of months ago. However, it’s safe to assume that the update will be based on both Android 13 and Android 14 to cover the maximum number of devices in the Xiaomi lineup.
