Xiaomi has announced the launch timeline of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 successor, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 smartphone. As per the details shared by Xiaomi President Lu Weibing, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 will be released in August. The company president confirmed these details while responding to the user’s question. Additionally, Xiaomi President Lui Weibing also shared details that the company has launched a new smart factory, and the first phone that will be manufactured in the new unit will be the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3.

Furthermore, he also mentioned that there are new upgrades in terms of manufacturing systems in order to ensure that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 can be thinner and stronger. It is also confirmed that the device will have Leica-branded cameras. As far as the specifications of the device go, it is tipped to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The device is expected to offer 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. In terms of the optics department, the handset is expected to feature a 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor, a telephoto camera, and a periscope camera. The device is also expected to feature an under-display fingerprint sensor on the main folding screen.

The other key specifications of the handset such as its display size, battery capacity, RAM and storage configuration remain unknown currently. To recall, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 predecessor, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 debuted in August last year. The device features a 6.56-AMOLED inch display on the outer side. It has a 1080 x 2520 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, a 21:9 ratio, and a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The inner display on the handset is of 8.02-inches. It has a 1914 x 2160 pixels resolution, 360 PPI pixel density, and 1300 nits brightness. Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC which is coupled with Adreno 730 GPU.
The smartphone comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. For the optics purpose, the device has a triple-camera setup which consists of a 50MP primary camera, 8MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor. The device features a 20MP camera on the front side for selfies and video-calling purposes. A 4,500mAh battery is equipped with the handset which supports 67W fast charging. The other key features which the Xiaomi Mix 2 Fold offer includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and stereo speaker support. The device boots Android 12 out of the box with MIUI 13 skin on top.
