Over the past year, we have seen a bunch of Android tablets from brands like Realme, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, and more. However, barring a couple of them, most Android tablets were budget-friendly and they were all priced under Rs 20,000. For those who wanted premium or even mid-range Android tablets, Samsung was the only option. But, now Xiaomi is here with its Xiaomi Pad 5 to address the situation.
The company has re-entered the Indian tablet space after a few years. Today, the company has unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 5 Android tablet, which will take on the likes of the Motorola Tab G70, Samsung Galaxy Tab A8, and also the entry-level iPad, the iPad (9th Gen). The Pad 5 from Xiaomi comes with a high refresh rate panel, Snapdragon processor, ample storage, support for a smart pen to take advantage of the large screen, and more. Xiaomi Pad 5: Price in India and Availability
It will be available in a two RAM and storage option in India. It will come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and a 6GB+256GB variant. The Xiaomi Pad 5 is priced at Rs 26,999 for the 128GB model and Rs 28,999 for the 256GB variant and will be available on Amazon, Mi.com, and Mi stores across India from May 3. ou can avail of Rs 2,000 additional on your HDFC bank credit card.
As an introductory offer, the 128GB will be available for Rs 24,999 and the 256GB will be available for Rs 26,999. This is valid till May 7th only. The keyboard and smart pen will be sold separately.
Xiaomi Pad 5: Specifications and Features
Starting off with the display, the Xiaomi Pad 5 come with a 10.95-inch 2.5K LCD screen with a 2560 × 1600 pixels screen resolution. The screen can get up to 650 nits of brightness, which is fairly good even for outdoor usage. The device comes with a 120Hz screen refresh rate and also a DCI-P3 colour gamut. In addition, it also supports Dolby Vision, making it the only tablet to offer this feature in this price segment.
Under the hood, the Pad 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 860 octa-core chipset built on a 7nm process with up to 2.96GHz clock speed. The SoC is paired with Adreno 640 GPU. The slim tablet is fitted with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and ample 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage on the inside. It draws power from an 8720mAh battery unit and will come with a 22.5W fast charging, but supports 33W fast charging as well.
As for the build quality, the tablet is made up of aluminium and galactic materials, which is a combination of glass and plastic. The tab weighs 511 grams and is just 6.85mm thick. In terms of audio, the tablet comes with a quad-speaker setup along with support for Dolby Atmos and also Hi-Res audio certification. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack here.
In the camera department, you get a 13MP rear camera and there is an 8MP shooter on the front. Other features include Mi smart Pen (stylus not included in the box), speaker channel mapping feature, which will flip speakers as you flip the tab, laminated display for better stylus usage, 24 bit/192khz audio support, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, USB Type-C port with OTG support, and MIUI for Pad based on Android 12.
