Xiaomi Set to Bring Redmi K50 Gaming Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition, Design Revealed

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.


The first Redmi K50 series handset is launching on February 16th in the Chinese market. Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi has started sharing teasers for the launch of the upcoming Redmi K50 gaming edition.

In a teaser, the company has confirmed that the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will come in a Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition. Alongside, the brand has also confirmed certain key specifications of the gaming-focused handset. Let us take a look at Redmi K50 Gaming Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition design and specifications.

Redmi K50 Gaming Design

The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will come with a design language similar to that of its predecessor. Redmi is retaining the pulsating LED light around the camera modeule. The handset is confirmed to come in two colour options – Blue Ice, and Mercedes AMG Petronas Edition.

The display panel on the device will house the selfie shooter inside the centered punch hole notch. The sim card tray and the volume rockers will be along the left edge of the device. Whereas, the power button and the gaming triggers will reside on along the right edge. The power button on the device might double as the fingerprint scanner.

The bottom of the device will house the speaker, microphone, and Type-C charging port. It will feature JBL Tuned speaker setup.

Redmi K50 Gaming Specifications

Redmi, via the official teasers, have confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, fabbed on Samsung’s 4nm process. The brand is switching to Snapdragon processor this time around on the Gaming Edition handset. To recall, the predecessor of the handset – Redmi K40 Gaming – is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor.

The brand has also confirmed that the device will make use of LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, which is an upgrade over its predecessor. Redmi K50 Gaming will also feature. a 4860mm² dual vapour chamber for heat dissipation. It will also support VRS, otherwise known as variable resolution rendering technology.

Since, the Redmi k40 Gaming launched as the POCO F3 GT in the Indian market. So, there is a good chance that the upcoming Redmi gaming focused handset arrives in India under the POCO F4 GT branding. The POCO F4 GT has already appeared on IMEI database.
