Xiaomi Redmi K50 Officially Teased, Expected to Pack Faster Charging, Better Screen and More

Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi K40 series devices back in February in China. The company has introduced 4 handsets under the K40 series – Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, Redmi K40 Pro+, and Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. Now, it seems like the company has started working on Redmi K50 series devices. Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing took it to his Weibo account to ask users about their expectations from the Redmi K40 series successors. He asked users what are their expectations from the upcoming Redmi K50 series devices in terms of features, and specifications

Famous tipster Digital Chat Station also tipped that the Redmi K50 series will bring improvements in several departments. He said that the upcoming K50 series devices will offer faster charging, better screen quality, and better video/imaging as well. To recall, the Redmi K40 devices come equipped with up to 67W fast-charging, so we could see up to 100W fast charging on a Redmi K50 series. To recall, the Redmi K40 Gaming Enhanced Edition offers 67W fast charging, while the other Redmi K40 series devices offer 33W fast charging.

It will be very interesting to see what upgrades Redmi K50 series will bring in the screen department since the Redmi K40 series offer E4 AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. Even though the Redmi K50 series may not launch in other markets, we can expect the devices to launch in global markets under Xiaomi or POCO brands. To recall Redmi K40 launched in India as Mi 11X, and as POCO F3 in global markets. Similarly, Redmi K40 Pro+ launched as Mi 11X Pro in India, while it was launched as Mi 11i in global markets. The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition is said to launch as POCO F3 GT, which is confirmed to launch in Q3 2021 in India.
