In November 2018, Xiaomi launched the quad-camera (two front and two rear cameras) phone, the Redmi Note 6 Pro (review) in India. The phone shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10 and now it is getting the MIUI 10 Global Beta 9.3.11 update based on Android 9 Pie. It was last month when Xiaomi started inviting beta testers for the MIUI 10 Global ROM. In the latest software endeavor by Xiaomi, MIUI 10 Global Beta 9.3.11 update is being rolled out with March security patch.
MIUI 10 v9.3.11 Global Beta Update For Redmi Note 6 Pro
The MIUI 10 Global Beta 9.3.11 OTA update rollout is currently limited to beta testers only although Note 6 Pro users can also download the closed beta update from here and flash it on their unit. It should soon be rolled out to a broader audience in a stable form. As for the other Xiaomi devices, some select phones are eligible for downloading the Android 9 Pie-based MIUI Global Beta ROM in a zip file followed by a manual flash. These other phones include the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Y2, and the Redmi 6 Pro too.
A word of caution, if you are not a pro at flashing ROMs, then it would be better to wait for the rollout of a stable update for your Redmi Note 6 Pro.
Redmi Note 6 Pro Received Permanent Price Cut
The Redmi Note 6 Pro recently received a permanent price cut in India. The phone is now available at INR 11,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variant and INR 15,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model. Interested buyers can buy the phone from Flipkart and Mi.com. This came after Xiaomi launched the successor to the phone, the Redmi Note 7 Pro, in India. In comparison to the Redmi Note 6 Pro, the Note 7 Pro retails at INR 13,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and INR 16,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Concerning specs and features, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is a substantial upgrade over the Redmi Note 6 Pro.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a 6.26-inch Full HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. A 1.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 636 chipset powers the phone with Adreno 509 GPU, up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone has a 12MP+5MP rear camera and a 20MP+2MP front camera. A 4,000mAh battery backs the phone with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It supports connectivity features such as dual-SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz, 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, GLONASS, and Infrared sensor. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
As one can judge, the Redmi Note 7 Pro brings quite a few improvements in the camera and hardware department when compared to the Note 6 Pro. The Note 7 Pro boasts a 48MP lens in the triple rear camera setup and it is powered by a Snapdragon 675 processor that is more powerful and efficient than the Snapdragon 636 SoC.
