The Redmi Note 6 Pro has already launched in various other markets, and it is finally hitting the Indian shores. The smartphone maker recently expanded the availability of the device to Indonesia. As the name suggests, the smartphone is the sixth iteration of the brand’s popular Redmi Note series. Xiaomi recently started sending out the media invitation for its next notched Redmi Note smartphone. Although, the press invite was clearly indicating towards the Redmi Note 6 Pro, Xiaomi later decided to confirm all the speculations. Now, an official launch page of Redmi Note 6 Pro is live on the popular e-commerce website Flipkart. This suggests that the device is going to be a Flipkart Exclusive. The page also reveals the launch date, launch offers and most importantly, the details about the first sale.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will see its official unveiling on November 22. The brand will release the phone as a part of the Black Friday Sale. You’ll be able to get your hands on this phone from the day after the launch. The very first sale of Redmi Note 6 Pro will kickstart on November 23 from 12 noon. Xiaomi has partnered with HDFC bank for exclusive debit and credit card offers/discounts. The brand still has not revealed any specific launch offers.

Redmi Note 6 Pro specifications

The Redmi Note 6 Pro is more of a refreshed version of its predecessor, the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The device comes with a larger 6.26-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Unlike its predecessor, the Note 6 Pro has a notch at the front which houses the front cameras and other sensors. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset paired with 3/4/6GB of RAM and 32/64GB of onboard memory. The other key highlight of the device is its quad-cameras. The Redmi Note 6 Pro now has four cameras in total, two sensors at the back and two sensors at the front. The back has 12MP + 5MP sensors while the front notch houses 20MP + 2MP snappers. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is fuelled by a massive 4000mAh battery. The device runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo, on top of MIUI. There is a fingerprint sensor at the back and interestingly, an infrared sensor for facial unlocking. Other specifications include dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5 and micro USB 2.0 for charging.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes in three different color options: Blue, Black and Rose Gold. The device will most likely arrive in three storage variants – 3GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB storage for the Indian market. The base variant is expected to set you back around INR 14,000. The remaining two variants 4GB and 6GB are expected to come with a price tag of INR 16,000 and INR 18,000 respectively.

As mentioned earlier, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will compete with the Realme 2 Pro which comes with the Snapdragon 660. The Note 6 Pro, on the other hand, is equipped with the older Snapdragon 636 which is also found in its predecessor. It would be interesting to see how Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will compete with the popular Realme 2 Pro. On another note, Realme is launching its first camera-centric budget device which might compete with the Note 6 Pro in terms of photographic capabilities.
