
It seems Xiaomi has some big plans in 2021 as the company is said to be launching three new foldable phones. The CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Ross Young has revealed the information by sharing some information about the development of his Twitter handle. Earlier the smartphone manufacturer brand was reportedly working on a foldable smartphone. However, Xiaomi is not the only one who is gearing up to step into the foldable smartphone category, brands like OPPO is also working on a rollable smartphone which is expected to go live in 2021. In a separate tweet Young also claimed that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Fold 3 smartphone will arrive with a smaller main and cover display.
Xiaomi Expected to Launch Foldable Smartphones
According to Young’s Tweet, Xiaomi is tipped to be the next brand to hit the market with the next foldable phone. He also claimed that the company is planning to launch three foldable smartphones in 2021, this includes three design types – out-folding, in-folding, and clamshell. However, he didn’t mention the first one to be launched by the company so we can expect anyone from the three. At the starting of this year, it was reported that Xiaomi has placed an order for foldable OLED panels from Samsung Display and LG Display which is expected to be for a clamshell-type smartphone.
