IPad mini 3 16GB(WiFi).

I recently purchased this little beauty via Mysmartprice site (through Amazon). Hence, I am posting a review. 1) Design and Display- Apple is famous for manufacturing portable, thin and light tablets. It is one of them. The new ipad mini has a 7.9-inch Retina display. It comes with an LED-backlit IPS LCD display with 1536 x 2048 pixels (~326 ppi pixel density). This device is a redesigned version of its bigger brother. It sports a unique and premium design. With such a magnificent resolution it is stunning. iPad mini 3 with Retina display feels terrific in hand. The aluminium finish at the back is really great. Each part of display is very crisp and clear. It is protected by oleophobic coating and the touch is very much smooth as usual. The great build and design factor is appealing with side bezels, aluminium coated metal back with the gold colour and well placed buttons. It weighs only 331 grams and feels very light in hand. It is the best one can afford. The viewing angles are pretty good as expected. It is very much sturdy and strong unlike the other earlier fragile versions of it. 2) Performance- iPad Mini 3 comes with iOS 8. It has a dual-core 1.3GHz clubbed with 1GB RAM. An Apple cyclone dual core is unlike other snapdragon quad cores. It is unique in terms of its capability and much more powerful. It is powered by the old A7 chip with 64-bit architecture which is disappointing as new M8 motion processor and A8 were launched and loaded with iPad Air 2. The addition of the M7 chip in the iPad mini 2 seems on the surface to be a little redundant but still does well with Asphalt 8. It has quad core graphics and therefore it's pretty snappy. Performance is as smooth as butter and all the games run pretty well. So, it's surely a plus point. 3) Camera- It sports a 5MP primary camera with 2592 x1944 pixels. It also has a secondary 1.2MP. It captures crisp and clear images and is better than a 8MP on other devices. 4) Software- It comes preloaded with iOS 8 which is upgradable to iOS 8.1 and other future updates. It has now word flow keyboard powered by swift, better and unique design with great and simple functionality clubbed with cool animations. iOS has been the greatest of all according to me due to its security features and practical uses. So I would not comment more on software as whatever I say is less. It is simply the best!! 5) Battery- This device comes with Non-removable Li-Po 6470 mAh battery. The best part is that after 5 hours of browsing, 4 hours of heavy gaming, downloads, watching videos on youtube, it sustained very long. With iOS 8 it's now far better. It would take about 2-3 days to let it finish so frequent travellers need not worry. 6) Storage- It comes with a non-expandable 16GB storage. It is a bit less as nowadays people click a lot of photos, capture videos, download games, apps, etc. So I would say that Apple should now make their devices eligible for expandable storage. If you want a 32GB/64GB, you have to pay more. Verdict- There is stiff competition with HTC Nexus 9 launched at 3k more. So, it all depends on your budget and the OS you like. Android lovers may not like iOS or vice versa. So, if you are a true Apple fan, this is the perfect 8 inch tab you would like to buy. Hence, the main cons are limited storage, high price and old processor chip. So, considering all aspects, I would give it a rating 4.5 stars.(read more)
