I am using this device and it goes without saying that it is an amazing tablet. It has a perfect screen resolution and size, processor is also fast and camera is fine for video-calling. The tablet is fast and enables users to do all kinds of tasks such as browsing, typing, mailing, watching videos etc. Given the price, it is a complete value for money.

Awesome tablet
By Imran, 99 months ago
Love the Nexus 7. For this price, there's nothing better available. The display is very nice with good colors, performance is also great. The hardware isn't very new but it still runs most games without problems like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 4. The 7 inch screen is perfect for using with one hand, but I wish it was a little bigger for movies and text editing.

Best part is of course the quick updates. Already running Android Lollipop on it, though it did introduce a few new issues but those will probably be fixed in future updates. All in all the Nexus 7 is awesome, but for a bigger screen I would recommend waiting for the Nexus 9.

Go for it!

Nexus 7 2013
By Rachit Jain, 102 months ago
It has been a year since I have been using this tablet. I had bought it from US when it had just launched and the reason to buy it instantaneously can be found out from my review given below- Design and Display- I would not say that the design of the tablet is great, rather I would say it is unique. The tablet is as compact as possible. The new Nexus is a very solid device. Its matte back offers a good grip while staying immune to fingerprints. The imprinted "Nexus" on the back, looks great. It is much more lighter and thinner as compared to its predecessor. It weighs only 290 gms. The buttons are placed at the top right corner as usual. It is made of plastic but still gives a very clean and impressive look. It sports a narrower front bezel around the display. Overall, the looks are quite attractive and you can't just ignore it for a second. However, it feels a bit vulnerable in hands. The speakers are at the back. Sound quality is pretty good but not the best. It comes with LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive 7.02 inches screen with 1200 x 1920 pixels (323 ppi pixel density). Overall, the display is brilliant. I have never seen such a display on any phone or tablet. It is similar to ipad's retina display. The viewing angles are great, icons and images are crisp and clear. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. So, that's surely a plus point for me. Performance- Google's Nexus 7 2nd gen comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 GHz Quad core processor. It is packed with 2GB RAM. According to the benchmark scores, the device is a huge improvement over the original. The tablet is amazingly responsive and does not show any lag, stutters or other symptoms of an overworked processor. Believe me, till now my device has not lagged a little and the performance has been smooth like butter. The Adreno 320 GPU featured here is one of the best you can get. It is surely a win for gamers. While playing games like asphalt 8, banana kong, despicable minion, the gaming experience was out of this world. The graphics are so amazing that you will not be able to leave it. Overall, performance on this device is outstanding. You won't ever face any kind of lag. Multitasking on this device is great, thanks to 2GB RAM. This RAM can run any sort of game, or app you throw at it. It is much more sufficient than required, another plus point. Camera- Unlike its predecessor, Nexus 7 2nd Gen has a 5MP rear camera and a 1.2MP secondary camera. In last 1 year, I had visited many places and captured over 200 photographs with this device. Features built in camera are panorama, 360 camera, etc. which help you capture clear, crisp photos and videos even in low light. With the new google camera update, it's even more brilliant than before as you get a new interface. Hence, the camera is surely a winner. Storage- The new Nexus 7 comes with an internal storage of 16GB/32GB which is not expandable(I guess). I own the 16GB one. I have installed 5-6 games(Asphalt 8, Banana Kong, Temple Run 2, Royal Revolt 2, etc), various applications, 300 songs, 200 photos and videos and still I have 8GB of free space. So, I love my device for it. I think 16GB storage is more than enough for such things, another plus point. Battery Life- It comes with a 3950 mAh battery which I would say is not quite great for a tablet. For me, it lasts for about a day or two. So, if you are a frequent traveller, then you might have to keep the charger along. However, it depends from person to person, so I would not say that it's a minus point. Software- It comes with Android 4.4.3, upgradable to Android 4.4.4. The best thing about Nexus devices is that as the update is released, you get it within a week. The lovable thing is the interface. The google android interface is really great and I love swyping. It has no capacitive touch button. Nexus has buttons on the screen for multitasking, home and back. Android on Nexus, I would say is the true android and it feels awesome (as compared to other phones). Other features you get are notification bar, swyping, etc. If you install google launcher, your device will look almost similar to Nexus 5. So, I would say that you will enjoy with this device. Price- It can be purchased at a very affordable price of Rs 15999 on What else do you need from a tablet, it's nothing like anything. If you have 15K in your pocket to spend, you should definitely buy this tablet. This is the best tablet you can buy under 25K. It has all you need and even more than you need. Once you buy this, you will get to know various other great things which I have not mentioned. Even, this review is quite small to describe this tablet. It is beyond your imagination and beyond your needs. Go for it.(read more)

The best compact tablet.
By Karan, 102 months ago
I used this tablet at my friends house and instantly fell in love with it. I bought this tablet as well. - It has an excellent battery life. - There are many people like me who doesn't like big bulky tablets, but this is just perfect. It has the perfect screen size ( 7 inches ) for a tablet, and is of lightweight. - It is easy to carry around. - Because it's from Google, I get all the Android updates as soon as they are released. Now, I am waiting for the Android L which will be releasing later this year. ( there is a 50% chance that this tablet will be updated to it) - the one thing which is poor is it's cameras, both the 5MP rear and 1.2MP front camera. They are below average and captures blurry pictures. - Also, it doesn't have microSD card support, so buy the highest memory option. - On the other side the 1.5 GHz processor and 2GB RAM runs heavy games like Asphalt 8 buttery smooth. I am in love with this tablet as I am not a photographs freak and I don't store many movies and videos in the tablet. So, if you are looking for a compact, nicely built tablet, it's for you. Also, I heard a rumor that another tablet might be unveiled by Google later this year. Still, it's just a rumor.(read more)
