ASUS is all set to launch the Zenfone 8 series on May 12th globally. This upcoming series is supposed to include three handsets - the ASUS Zenfone 8 Mini, Zenfone 8 Pro, and the Zenfone 8 Flip. While these devices are set to launch on May 12th globally, ASUS won't be launching the Zenfone 8 series on May 12th in India. The company has confirmed that it has plans to launch the Zenfone 8 series in India, but considering that the country is battling the second COVID-19 wave, it has planned to defer the launch of the same. This information comes from ASUS Business Head Dinesh Sharma who has mentioned in his tweet that unless the current COVID situation in India improves, ASUS won't be launching the Zenfone 8 lineup.
Asus Zenfone 8 duo will make a global debut on May 12th.
The ASUS smartphone that has appeared in the BIS certification (Via: @_the_tech_guy) database carries a model number as ASUS_I007D. This model is believed to launch as the Zenfone 8 Pro. As mentioned above, the Zenfone 8 lineup is set to go official on May 12th globally. However, as of now, ASUS has not confirmed the launch of these handsets in India. Now, that the Zenfone 8 Pro has appeared in the BIS certification, we can expect the phone to launch in the Indian market in the upcoming few weeks. The complete specifications of the pro model are not known as of now. However, some previous reports hint that the phone will sport a 120Hz OLED display, and it will be powered by Snapdragon 888 chipset.
