The ThinkPad X is a 12-inch tablet with a Full HD display (2160 1440 pixels). The tablet sports an HD front-facing snapper and a rear camera with LED flash. The device weighs around 790 grams, and with the keyboard, nearly 1 kg. It also provides an additional battery.

The ThinkPad X1 features three additional modules that can transform it into a laptop, projector, or a 3D camera. The presenter module includes a pico projector capable of forming a 60-inch display. The productivity module adds 5 hours of battery life in addition to a USB and an HDMI port. The third module is the 3D imaging module with its rear-facing Intel RealSense 3D camera for scanning objects. A promising feature, if you believe that the 3D printing is going to take off in a couple of years. These modules definitely offer a lot of flexibility but, are quite complicated to assemble.

Similar to Microsoft's Surface tablets, this has a built-in kickstand. The stand offers decent stability when the keyboard is attached. The tablet's keyboard provides three adjustable typing angles. The display has a palm rejection logic, which uses an algorithm in order to prevent accidental brushes by the palm or when the hand is rested on it. The stylus is optional and is for an additional $50.
