Is this a good mobile or not?
Yes, it's a good and great mobile in this price tag. As far as my concern no problem arises. Display is good, 3GB RAM supports well to run apps. Battery supports well too. Most negative side is it doesn't support VoLTE. By using apps you have to make call. I am using it for more than 9 months now. No problem. And brought it at Rs.10200. but now price is more cheaper than before. You can take it with your eyes closed. When I brought it then micromax declared for updating of marshmellow update in future. I reminded them by emailing but till the date they didn't sent me any update, only saying that they are working on updating now. If anyone got the update of marshmellow then the set would supp

No, only features are attractive. Better to choose Xiaomi or Moto. It has Charging pin problem, heating problem and also the battery is draining too fast.

The phone is good. I have been using it for 2 years and it never used to hang. But generally, people don't have a good impression on Micromax.

Within six months of purchase, the battery is showing charging problems. I have to charge it for 4 to 5 hrs. Also the charge drains very fast.

It is good, but the battery is so poor. So don't buy it. After one year of purchasing, it has folder problem which cost around Rs. 2000.

Does it have any heating or blasting issues?
Every mobile will gets heated up if you continuously use it for more than 2 hours. So is the case with this mobile. But it works pretty good and at this price it is more worthier than Vivo, Oppo and Gionee. You will love its selfie camera with wideselfie and selfie flash. Camera quality is same as One plus.

Every mobile has little issue of heating especially while charging. but is should not be too much all the time. I am using canvas 5 for last one month , I have not come across any serious problem. I have installed DU BOOSTER APP which intimate and helps me if there is heating problem.

No, it doesn't have any blasting issue and won't have anytime soon. But it has a heating issue like other smartphones. I am using this phone for the last 2 years now and I recommend you to buy Lenovo k6 power.

Yes, in the starting it had many heating issues but after deleting the Clean master app, it didn't have any heating issues.

The mobile tends to get slightly heated on prolonged usage of camera and while charging, but there is nothing to worry.

What about Battery? Wheather it heats up while playing games for one hour?
I don't play games much. But, if you play games for an hour or more certainly any handset would tend to heat up. Though one thing I have observed is that Canvas 5 heats a bit when camera is used a lot. Other than that there are no heating issues.

Yes, it gets heated up quite easily if you have the Clean Master app If you delete the app the heating issue slows down a bit.

Not really, but somehow it gets heated. However, the gaming experience is quite good as compared to other phones in this range.

I don't play games on the phone. But it does heat up when you use internet for 30 to 40 min. Also the battery exhausts fast.
By bhumika_k, 30 months ago
Mark Helpful (153)
Yep, it sure does. Almost all the phones do get heated up while playing for one hour, except for the phones of 20k+ price.

Is this a 4G phone and how is the quality of this product?
Yes, it supports 4G LTE. But it does not have VoLTE. You can download Jio 4GVoice app from PlayStore, if you want to use Jio SIM. Call/download speed and quality depends a lot on your network service provider rather than your handset.
By s.amith.raj, 29 months ago

Yes, it's 4G and supports Jio, battery backup is little bit low and all Android phones don't have battery backup. This mobile is worth the money in this price range, it's the best choice .

It is a 4G phone but does not support VoLTE technology. For using Jio SIM, you have to install Jio4GVoice app ( if you want to use it for calling through Jio).

No, its battery is non-removable. In fact, the removable battery has lots of heating issues and is slightly heavier compared to non-removable.

Yes, it is a 4G phone, but sometimes it hangs. It is a good phone but if you always use a phone for 8 hours a day then don't go for it.

I have an issue regarding battery charging and backup, it will take 8-10 hours to get fully charged, is it with all phones or this issue is with specifically with my handset.?
This issue is just in your handset. Go to the service centre and get it checked. It takes a maximum of 1:30 hours to get fully charged. Try charging your mobile after switching it off and then go to the service centre.

It takes an average time of 5-8hours to charge & consumed very fast if its space is utilised much. When space is sufficient, then it takes little less time, i.e., 3-5 hours & drains slowly.

I am using Canvas 5 from four months now. I will keep my mobile for charging when it comes to 20% or below. It takes about 3.5 - 4 hours to get fully charged and not 8-10 hours.

I think the problem is with your phone, especially with the handset you have, and I don't have that problem. My phone will fully charge in 2 to 3 hours.

It takes a little longer to charge but not so long. It takes 4 hours for full charge. You should download the UC browser for better charging effect.

Maintenance is high and costly of all Micromax mobiles

Don't buy Micromax mobile, the company's service is very very costly and charges a lot of money than any other company, once the warranty has expired.

Waste of money.
By robinmathewj, 40 months ago
Out of my 7 months experience. Only RAM is good, rest of them are very bad. Battery is 2900mAh, works like 1900mAh. Severe call mute problem, need to reboot 3 to 4 times daily. Reverse charging, battery charging goes reverse , Eg: 30% when charging starts, after 1/2 an hour the battery percentage is 20-25%, after reboot it seems to be alright. Camera is bad, especially rear camera. Vibration mode/ ringing mode is not working half of the time. Never expected this type of products from Micromax. Giving 1 star is also more than enough. I hate this MICROMAX CANVAS 5.(read more)
