Best in this Segment
By Udit, 102 months ago
The phone is excellent, you cannot a get a better phone in this price. I purchased it for Rs.22800 after getting a student discount that it's exclusive seller offers. The pros and the cons and discussed below. Pros: Good looks: it has a good look not a one that will immediately catch your attention on one go but still it looks great in hand and is slightly curved making it look better. The edges are not that curved but it's okay. It has a plastic back panel which is good in quality. Nice Handiness: It weighs only 130 grams and is thin. As the screen is big, carrying it in hands is not always good. The curved design gives a better grip and makes typing easy during walking. Durability: It has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which protects the screen from scratches. It is also a water repellent coating on screen which saves the mobile from small water spills. The phone is overall tough but the back panel gets easy scratches. Great screen size and resolution: It has a 4.7 inch AMOLED screen, amoled screen were only available in high segment phones till now. Colours come out to be great on screen. It has a resolution of 1280 x 720 which makes it almost 300 ppi which is great. The texts appears to be crispier and clearer. Great Processor, Good RAM gives a Great Performance: It has 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM and a Quad-Core Adreno 320 GPU. The 2GB RAM makes the gaming and multitasking smooth and is same available in all leading handsets but dual core processors are bit old but doesn't affects its performance which is butter smooth. Camera: It has a 10 MP rear camera which really takes great images in daylight but in low light the quality gets down. It records 1080p full HD videos that are really great. It is for sure has got one of the best camera available in this segment. The front camera is a 2 MP camera which clicks some great selfies on the go. Operating System and UI: It comes out with 4.4.2 Android KitKat and Motorola also gives frequent updates. The user interface and features put in by Motorola are awesome. Moreover, it will soon get updated to Android L which will even make the UI better. Great Value for money: It offers great value for money as some of the features it has are of one segment above and you cannot get a better phone with better features in this segment. Cons: Bad Battery backup and battery saving feature: It has a 2200mAh battery capacity, which is good but looking at its size and the amount of battery it drains, it discharges very fast. It has a battery saver mode which automatically switches on when battery gets below 15% and turns off background data to save battery. It last around 6-8 hours only when continuously used but with wifi on, decreases a bit more. Slow Charging: I first thought that something is wrong with the socket and changed it but with all the sockets, the charging was slow. The slow charging is really frustrating and if you often need a quick charge then for sure you will hate this phone. Undependable memory: It does not have a memory expansion option so you need to manage your space intelligently and clean the unneeded data often. Missing Dual Sim: It does not have a dual sim option which is available in all phones of this segment. If you have two sims and like to carry only one phone then it's disappointing. Decision: The pros and cons have been, it's your decision after all. The pros it has are really good whereas the cons are really user based, so if you can comprise it or overlook it then for sure go for the phone. It's simply awesome and I would rate it 9/10.(read more)

Moto X is a Stunner!!
By Kshitij Gupta, 103 months ago
Pros: --> It has a 4.7 inch 720p HD screen with 312 pixels per inch density. The screen looks just awesome to watch. --> It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection which means the display is scratch resistant. --> The sound output is very nice. It is clear and the call quality is great. --> The 2 GB RAM is more than enough for true multitasking without any lag. --> The phone even has NFC. --> The 10MP rear camera takes stunning pictures and is awesome. It can record 1080p Full HD videos. --> It is upgradable to Android 4.4.4 Kitkat. Motorola is also known for releasing quick software updates. --> The graphics quality is fantastic. --> The phone has a voice command feature. You just have to say "ok google" followed by the command to send message or open an app, search for something on google, set reminder, etc. --> The phone has a separate processor for this task which runs on low power mode, so there is no battery impact. --> There is also an active notification feature. Just pull up or down on the phone while it's on standby mode and it shows you the notifications. --> I like the design and it's available in variety of colours. Cons: --> It has non-removable battery. --> The battery is not that good. --> There is no SD card support in the phone. --> The phone features a 1.7 Ghz dual core CPU which is good enough. But the competition offers a quad core processor. --> The front facing 2MP camera is mediocre. --> It will receive Android Lollipop update, but after that it's all up to Motorola. --> There is no inclusion of FM radio on the phone. Conclusion: This is an awesome phone with an awesome back camera. The battery will also be enough for anyone with average use but not for a heavy user. The features like voice command, active notifications are some interesting and useful additions to the phone. The phone scores on display, usability, creativity, customization and rear camera, but it fails in the front camera, ability to be repaired, battery and storage. Overall, it's an awesome addition to the Motorola's device list and buying one of this is certainly a nice decision. If you are not that enthusiastic about the camera and want more powerful phone, I would recommend you to buy Nexus 5. It will however be missing the active notifications and the voice command feature.(read more)
