Perhaps the most notable feature of the OPPO Reno 5G is its Shark Fin pop-up selfie camera. This front facing shooter is comprised of a 16MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, and it is accompanied by a front-facing soft light for better selfies in the dark. Another standout feature is the triple camera sensor at the back where one of the sensors uses a periscope lens setup to achieve 10x hybrid zoom. The actual camera here is a 13MP telephoto sensor with an f/3.0 aperture. Primary photography on this phone is handled by a 48MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture, 0.8 m pixels, and phase-detection autofocus. Both these cameras support OIS. The third rear camera is an 8MP, f/2.2 aperture sensor that takes ultra-wide shots. This rear setup is capable of recording 4K 60fps videos.

  The Shark-Fin pop-up mechanism allows for an almost bezel-less experience on the phone’s panoramic display. This screen makes use of a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel that achieves a screen to body ratio of 93.1 percent. The front of the handset is further protected by Gorilla Glass 6, and it also gets a TUV Rheinland eye protection certification. There is also an in-screen fingerprint scanner on this phone. To offer a true flagship experience, the phone runs a Snapdragon 855 chipset under the hood. This is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. A hybrid SIM tray makes it possible to add another 256GB with the use of a microSD card. And, of course, the defining feature of this phone is its support for 5G networks. For software, the phone comes pre-loaded with Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS 6.

Keeping the light on is a large 4065mAh battery that gets support for OPPO’s proprietary VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge. In the box, you get a 20W fast charger with a USB Type-C charging cable. The rest of the connectivity options of this phone include Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, aptX HD, NFC, dual-band A-GPS, and a USB Type-C charging port. The only thing the phone misses out on is the 3.5mm headphone jack.
