The Poco M7 Pro impresses with its OLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, upgraded processor, and larger battery. The display is vibrant and smooth, great for gaming, with solid audio. However, bloatware and inconsistent camera performance are drawbacks. While the performance is good, it's not the best in its class - consider the CMF Phone 1 or iQOO Z9x for more power. Despite some minor issues, this is a solid upgrade from last year and could be the right choice if you can overlook the bloatware.

If you're in the market for a smartphone under Rs 10,000, the Motorola G45 is worth considering. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, it handles everyday tasks smoothly and is capable of decent multitasking. The design, like many Motorola models, stands out with its flat display and thicker bezels, though this might not be to everyone's taste. On the plus side, the vegan leather finish adds a touch of elegance, making it visually appealing. The display offers good colour reproduction but outdoor brightness levels could have been better. When it comes to battery life, the G45 underperforms and doesn't provide the reliability you'd expect. However, if your priority is a phone that delivers solid performance, handles daily tasks with ease, offers decent camera quality for its price, and you're willing to overlook some design shortcomings, the G45 could be the right pick for you.

The Moto G64 aims to offer an affordable device without cutting too many corners. And it succeeds in that aspect to a large extent. If you go for the higher-end variant, you get 256GB storage and 12GB RAM for under Rs 16,000, which is impressive. What stands out is the design, the general performance, the camera, and the large battery size. The user interface is also simple. But then Motorola is restricting Android updates to just one more version. Is this the best display one can get on a phone? No, nor is it a device centred around gaming. But then, given the price, it ticks some of the more important boxes quite nicely. If one goes by pricing, its biggest rival would be the Realme P1, which has more to offer on the gaming front. Get the Moto G64 if you want a phone that does the basics well and your budget is limited to Rs 14,000-Rs 16,000.

The Redmi 13C 5G presents itself as a budget-friendly 5G smartphone featuring a glitzy back panel, a chipset that can perform daily tasks with ease, and commendable battery backup. Display-wise, users are treated to a 6.74-inch panel offering a 90Hz refresh rate. However, the display's waterdrop-style notch and thick bezels belong to a bygone era. On the rear, the phone is equipped with a 50MP AI camera alongside a 2MP depth camera, while a 5MP selfie camera graces the front. Picture quality is decent, however, if the camera is your main priority, you may have to look elsewhere. As for performance, the phone is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC, which is adequate given its price point. While users might encounter occasional stutters and lags, these shouldn't significantly impede daily tasks. The device ships with a plethora of pre-installed apps, which can somewhat mar the software experience. Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery with support for up to 18W of charging. However, the inclusion of a 10W charging adapter in the box means full charging might take over two hours. That being said, if your primary considerations revolve around 5G connectivity, satisfactory performance, and an aesthetically appealing design without breaking the bank, the Redmi 13C 5G could very well be your go-to option.

Priced at Rs 13,999, the Itel S23 Plus comes with an AMOLED display. The display panel has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and a NFC support. A 5,000mAh battery equipped with the device can easily last throughout the day. However, the performance of the device is average and it lacks 5G support. If 5G and a higher refresh rate aren't a concern for you, you can consider buying the Itel S23 Plus.

Poco X3 Pro is the ideal mid-range phone in the market for power-hungry users. It has pretty much everything you need. Big screen with support for 120Hz refresh rate, Android 11-based software, decent cameras on both sides and IP rating for splash-proof resistance. You also get long battery backup with 33W fast charging supported. However, the only drawbacks are hybrid storage slot and a bulky design can be uncomfortable to use. Poco X3 Pro is a definite choice for buyers.

The Poco M6 Pro's design language is minimal and stunning. It's lightweight yet sturdy, a great combination. The phone boasts a 6.71-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, offering good brightness indoors and outdoors. It features a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP depth camera on the back and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The camera performs well in daylight, though edge detection in portrait mode could be improved. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, which easily handles multitasking, though it may not excel at intensive gaming. Running on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, the device comes with pre-installed apps. The M6 Pro 5G has a 5000mAh battery and includes a 22.5W charger in the box. The phone can last an entire day with light usage, but moderate to heavy usage will require charging by the end of the day. The Poco M6 Pro offers good battery life, smooth everyday performance, and impressive image quality in daylight conditions.

The Redmi Note 12 and Note 12 Pro+ share the same design. The phone is comfortable to hold and provides a good grip. It features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a good viewing experience with smooth and fast animations. The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery and comes with a 33W charger, easily lasting a day with moderate to heavy usage. The device runs on Android 12, which is disappointing since the latest version, Android 13, should be included. The Note 12 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. It performs moderately well for day-to-day tasks, but games crash too frequently in gaming. The rear camera setup consists of a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. Daylight shots are acceptable and have good colour accuracy, but the ultrawide camera could do with some improvements. On the front, there's a 13MP selfie camera with various beauty modes and filters, producing consistently nice skin tones. Considering these factors, the Redmi Note 12 is a good smartphone with a solid design, decent performance, and impressive cameras.

The Redmi 12 is that affordable 5G kid on the block, offering decent bang for your buck. It packs in 5G compatibility, solid battery life, and a respectable display for its price tag. With a spacious 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD display rocking a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, your visuals are crisp and fluid indoors, though it might struggle a bit under bright sunlight. In the camera department, you're looking at a 50MP main shooter and a 2MP depth camera - no ultra-wide camera here, unfortunately. Selfie-wise, there's an 8MP front-facing camera. While it holds its own in well-lit conditions, low-light shots leave something to be desired. It's powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, chugging along smoothly for your everyday tasks but stumbling a bit when it comes to gaming. With a hearty 5000mAh battery, it's got the juice to keep you going through the day. It runs on MIUI 14, based on Android 13, but be prepared for a bit of bloatware out of the box. At Rs. 11,999, this 5G smartphone checks off most of the boxes, making it a worthy contender for budget-conscious buyers.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 offers the best display, camera quality, software experience, and battery life in its segment. However, its super-slow performance is a huge letdown. The device feels so sluggish that at a point you don't care about the positive bits of the device; you just feel like throwing it away for its poor performance. In spite of many class-leading features, I'd suggest you go for Xiaomi or Realme smartphones in the segment, which may not offer features as good as that of the Galaxy M31 but they get your work done and offer tremendous reliability.

Samsung Galaxy M21 is a hard-core mid-range device that offers a decent display, with an effective set of hardware, quality cameras and a decent battery backup. However, for this price, we expect phones to offer 90Hz refresh rate support these days, and a mere 4GB RAM might not work in favour of the power users. Also, the big capacity battery misses out on faster charging speed.

The large 6.79-inch screen is ideal for streaming, and the camera performs well in daylight. Its battery life and fast charging are additional perks. However, it has some downsides: the budget chipset struggles with multitasking, and the software can be cluttered with spam notifications. For a cleaner software experience, consider the Moto G64. For better optics and performance, the Vivo T3x and Realme Narzo 70x 5G are also good alternatives.

The Poco X5 closely resembles the Poco X4 Pro in design, but it has some distinct features like a curved back panel. This phone is comfortable to hold thanks to its plastic back finish, which is matte rather than glossy, reducing fingerprint smudges. It boasts a 5000mAh battery and comes with a 33W charger. The rear camera setup includes a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there's a 13MP selfie camera. While daylight shots are good, they lack details and sharpness. In contrast, the selfie camera produces photos with accurate skin tones. The Poco X5 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, providing a good indoor and outdoor viewing experience. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, offering satisfactory performance for everyday tasks. Although the phone can handle high-end gaming, the experience is not ideal due to low graphics and frame rates. Therefore, if you're in the market for a budget smartphone that performs well in day-to-day tasks, takes good photos, and has a smooth display, the Poco X5 is worth considering.

The only thing that the POCO M2 Pro lacks is a display with a high refresh rate. The rest of the specifications of the device are the best in class. If you can compromise on a high refresh rate display, you can't get a better phone than the POCO M2 Pro in this price range. However, if you want a high refresh rate, go for the Realme 6 Pro.

Priced at under Rs 20,000, the Samsung Galaxy F34 features an AMOLED display. The device has a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone runs Android 13 out of the box, and it is promised to receive four years of Android software updates. A 6,000mAh battery equipped with the device can easily last throughout the day. The phone also has 11 5G bands support and a microSD card slot. However, the Exynos 1280 SoC equipped with the handset offers mediocre performance. Overall, the Galaxy F34 is a good device considering that you get a good 120Hz AMOLED display, massive 6,000mAh battery, and 11 5G bands support.

In the affordable smartphone market, the Samsung Galaxy F14 5G model presents a desirable balance of design and specifications. The phone's large 6.6-inch display is ideal for viewing content from a variety of platforms. Considering the price range of under Rs 15,000, the camera appears to be satisfactory. The OPPO F11 Pro is a mid-range phone that looks great and captures really nice still images. Totally a flaunting tool for millenials. Buyers won't complain about the phone's performance but things like a dated microUSB port and a lower price tag could've made this phone an even better option to consider.

It is hard to recommend the Oppo A5s when options such as the Realme 3 and Redmi Note 7 exist. The use of a weak Helio P35 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM on the Oppo A5s result in a severely lacking user experience. If your only requirements are good looks and long battery life, then this smartphone will fulfill your needs. If imaging and performance are must-haves, then you would be better off looking elsewhere.

Redmi 10 Prime crosses the Rs 12,000 mark to graduate from a budget to a mid-range device for buyers. It uses the new MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, but this variant gets 4GB RAM only. The LCD display supports 90Hz refresh rate, and offers Full HD+ resolution. The storage is expandable, and even with a 6,000mAh battery the phone is comfortable to hold. However, the cameras are average for the price, and so is the 18W charging support.

The Samsung Galaxy A70 is a neat-looking phone with the excellent build quality. OneUI software has good aesthetics and design as well. What we liked the most is the phone's stunning OLED screen, which is ideal for content consumption. The selfie camera is good and so is the battery life. However, it has its own share of issues. The fingerprint sensor implementation is poor. The rear cameras lack night mode and any kind of video stabilization. The wide-angle shots don't come out well due to the excessive barrel distortion. All things considered, Vivo's V15 Pro is a more balanced choice. It comes with a more stylish design, a full-screen OLED screen, and much better cameras. However, it comes with its own share of fault in the form of Funtouch OS, which is a cheap replica of Apple's iOS.

The Realme XT packs a mean punch for its price tag by offering not just a 64MP camera, but a high-quality display, a good processor and a lightning fast charger, all of which is available at the Rs. 15,000 mark. The phone is also scheduled to get an Android 10 rollout sometime in 2020.

The Galaxy A50s has a little bit of everything but not a lot of anything. In that sense, it's a great all-rounder but there are alternatives in the market that offer great cameras, and better battery life but most importantly, better processors. So it's a hit or miss with the A50s, but if past numbers are any indication, the Galaxy A50s should be just as popular as its predecessor.
