Sony Xperia Compact Fold

Sony is introducing its first foldable smartphone dubbed as Sony Xperia Compact Fold. This new offering from Sony offers impressive specifications, an AMOLED display, and powerful hardware. The Sony Xperia Compact Fold flaunts a 7.63-inch AMOLED display that has a 1812 x 2176 pixels resolution. The device has a 21:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The inner display has a 371 PPI pixel density. The outer display on the handset is of 6.8-inches, and its also an AMOLED panel. The power and volume keys are located on the right side of the handset. For the security purpose, this device gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which is embedded in a power button. On the software side of things, the Xperia Compact Fold runs Android 13 OS out of the box.

The Sony Xperia Compact Fold uses an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This 4nm chipset includes a 3.2GHz Single-Core Cortext X3 CPU, 2.8GHz Quad-Core Cortext A715 CPU, and a 2GHz Cortext A510 CPU, which offers excellent performance and handles all the multitasking with ease. The chipset is paired with a Adreno 740 GPU, which handles the graphical performance. The Xperia Compact Fold ships with a 12GB of RAM. The handset packs 256GB of internal storage which is sufficient for storing all files, videos, and photos.

On the imaging front, the device has a triple-camera setup. The camera module comprises of a 50MP primary camera that has a f/1.8 aperture and an OIS support. The 50MP sensor is accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto camera. The selfie department on the handset is handled by a dual-camera setup, which consist of a 10MP primary camera and a 4MP secondary lens.

The Xperia Compact Fold packs a 4,500mAh battery which offers 45W fast charging support. Connectivity-wise, the handset has several features like Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS, 4G VoLTE, 5G, dual-SIM card slot, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The handset also has a IP68 rating and a stereo speaker setup.
