Xiaomi Mi 6

The Xiaomi Mi6 that we wrote about in December 2016 on our blog Gear by MySmartPrice is now official. The Xiaomi Mi6 is the flagship device from the company; it replaces the Xiaomi’s earlier flagship Mi5, that we reviewed earlier back in August 2016. The Mi5 proved to be a value for money all-rounder smartphone device in our test, and the company is aimed to do the same again with its all new Xiaomi Mi6. The design of the Xiaomi Mi6 is almost similar to the Mi5, the only major difference is on the rear of the device, as the device now comes with a dual-camera setup instead of one. The curved back design helps to hold the device with much more confidence.

The Xiaomi Mi6 comes with a 5.15-inch Full HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass design and it is covered by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4. The display is among the best LCD’s ever used in a smartphone device. The high brightness level of 600 nits provides high visibility under direct sunlight. The imaging on the Xiaomi Mi6 is handled by a dual 12MP cameras on the back and a 4MP ultra pixel camera on the front. The primary camera is capable of recording 4K videos as well as slow-motion videos. The selfie camera is an ultra pixel unit; it is known for performing well under low-light conditions.

The performance on the Xiaomi Mi6 is handled by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor from Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 835 is a beast in terms of performance with its eight powerful cores and Adreno 540 GPU for providing with rich visual graphics. The RAM on the Xiaomi Mi6 is 6GB whereas, the storage option includes a 64GB as well as 128GB variant. The Xiaomi Mi6 comes loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. Xiaomi has customised the OS with its MIUI 8 user interface for added functionality as well as distinguished looks.

The device is fuelled by a 3,350 mAh non-removable battery. The Xiaomi Mi6 is benefitted by the Quick Charge 4 technology that is present in the Snapdragon 835 that helps the device to charge faster and stay cooler at the same time; it can be charged through a USB Type-C port at the bottom. The Xiaomi Mi6 is a dual-SIM 4G device and it also comes with dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS.
