HP ZBook Ultra G3a Launched in India at Rs 2.89 Lakh, Supports Local AI Models With Up to 300 Billion Parameters

HP has launched the ZBook Ultra G3a mobile workstation in India at Rs 2,89,990 before taxes, featuring AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO processors and support for local AI models with up to 300 billion parameters.

HP has launched the ZBook Ultra G3a 16-inch mobile workstation in India, targeting professionals working with artificial intelligence, engineering, design and high-resolution content creation. AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO processors power it, the workstation is designed to run demanding AI workloads locally, reducing reliance on cloud-based processing for supported tasks.

HP ZBook Ultra G3a Specifications and Features

The workstation is powered by AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO processors, with configurations going up to the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495. HP claims the system can support local AI workloads involving models with up to 300 billion parameters. It offers up to 192GB of unified memory, including up to 160GB of dedicated VRAM, alongside an NPU rated at up to 55 TOPS. This configuration is designed to support AI development and multi-agent workflows directly on the device.

HP has also redesigned the thermal system to enable up to 100W of performance for demanding workloads. According to the company, this represents an 81.8% increase in maximum thermal design power compared with the previous ZBook Ultra G1a's 55W limit.

The HP ZBook Ultra G3a features a 16-inch 2.8K OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. HP says the panel is designed to deliver clarity, colour accuracy and responsiveness for professional workloads. The 120Hz display is an optional configuration that must be selected at purchase. Despite its workstation positioning, the laptop starts at approximately 1.9kg and measures 17.9mm in thickness. HP claims battery life of up to 14 hours from its 96Wh battery, although actual endurance will depend on the configuration, applications and usage conditions.

For charging, the workstation supports HP's 140W and 180W GaN USB-C power adapters. The company also lists optional 5G connectivity, an IT-replaceable keyboard and HP Wolf Security for Business among its features.

HP is positioning the ZBook Ultra G3a around the growing demand for AI processing at the device level. Running AI models locally can be useful for developers and organisations that need greater control over their workflows and want to reduce dependence on remote computing resources for supported applications. The company also highlights agentic AI workflows, in which AI systems can perform multiple steps as part of a larger task. HP says the workstation is designed to support these workloads across software development, engineering, design and content creation. The large memory capacity and dedicated VRAM allocation are central to this approach, particularly for users working with larger models. However, performance will vary depending on the model, software optimisation and workload, and support for a model with a particular parameter count does not necessarily mean every model will run at the same speed or with the same capabilities.

HP ZBook Ultra G3a Price in India and Availability

The HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16-inch mobile workstation is priced at Rs 2,89,990, excluding taxes. It is available through HP's commercial channel partners in India.

The device is aimed at professionals who need workstation-class computing in a portable form factor, including developers building AI applications, engineers working on complex products, designers creating immersive experiences and content creators handling demanding projects. The HP ZBook Ultra G3a stands out for bringing a high-memory, local AI computing setup into a relatively portable workstation. Its support for up to 192GB of unified memory, up to 160GB of dedicated VRAM and a 55-TOPS NPU makes it relevant to professionals exploring local LLMs and agentic workflows. At Rs 2.89 lakh before taxes, it is firmly aimed at professional users rather than mainstream laptop buyers. Its value will ultimately depend on how well its memory capacity, sustained performance and software compatibility translate into practical gains for demanding workloads.
