HMD has launched the Vibe2 Pro 5G in India, expanding its Vibe smartphone lineup with a focus on performance, camera capabilities and battery life. The new smartphone arrives as an upgraded version of the Vibe2 5G.
HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G Specifications And Features
The HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G features a 6.78-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 800 nits of typical brightness. The higher refresh rate should make everyday interactions such as scrolling and navigating through apps feel smoother, while the larger display is also aimed at users who consume a lot of video content or play games on their phones.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, an octa-core 5G chipset with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores reaching up to 2.0GHz. The phone comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, both with 128GB of storage, while a microSD card can expand storage by up to 512GB. The camera setup has also received a significant upgrade. The HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G gets a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 primary camera paired with a 2-megapixel Micro sensor, along with a 13-megapixel front camera. On paper, the Sony sensor gives HMD a stronger camera proposition in this segment, although real-world image processing will ultimately determine how competitive the phone is against rivals.
Battery life is another major focus, with the smartphone packing a 6,000mAh battery and supporting 33W fast charging. HMD is also including a compatible charger in the box, which gives the Vibe2 Pro 5G an advantage at a time when several smartphones in the segment are moving away from bundled chargers. The smartphone runs Android 16 and includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, dual microphones, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will be available in Silver Mist, Aqua Green and Cosmic Purple, with a rainbow effect around the camera module adding some visual distinction to the design.
HMD is also positioning the Vibe2 Pro 5G as an India-focused smartphone. It comes with Indus by Sarvam AI, an AI assistant designed to support 22 Indian languages and built around Indian cultural context. The phone also integrates Sanchar Saathi, although the app remains optional for consumers.
HMD Vibe2 Pro Price And Availability
The HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G will go on sale in India from October 8 through Flipkart, coinciding with the Big Billion Days sale. The 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at ₹14,999, while the 8GB + 128GB model costs ₹16,999.
At ₹14,999, the Vibe2 Pro 5G enters one of the most competitive smartphone segments in India. Its combination of a 120Hz FHD+ display, 5G chipset, 64MP Sony camera, 6,000mAh battery and Android 16 makes it a fairly well-rounded package on paper. HMD is clearly trying to move beyond simply offering an affordable smartphone here, with the Vibe2 Pro 5G targeting consumers who want a more complete everyday experience without stretching their budget.
