The smartphone ships with Android 15 out of the box. Lava says the device offers a bloatware-free and ad-free user experience, which could appeal to users who prefer a clean software interface without unnecessary pre-installed apps or intrusive advertisements.
Additionally, the phone comes with an IP64 rating, protecting against dust and minor water splashes.
Powering the Lava Bold 2 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset, which offers a peak clock speed of 2.6GHz. According to Lava, the device has achieved more than 500,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark, suggesting competitive performance in the mid-range smartphone category.
The smartphone is equipped with 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM, which supports faster multitasking and improved energy efficiency. It also features 128GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, enabling quicker app launches and faster data transfers compared to older storage standards.
In the camera department, the Lava Bold 2 5G features a dual rear camera setup placed within a rectangular camera module on the back panel. The primary camera is a 50-megapixel sensor sourced from Sony, which is expected to deliver improved image quality and detail.
The secondary rear camera has not been detailed by the company, but it works alongside the main sensor to assist with additional photography functions.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphone includes an 8-megapixel front camera, positioned within a hole-punch cutout at the top of the display.
The Lava Bold 2 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which should comfortably support a full day of usage for most users. The handset also supports 33W wired fast charging, allowing users to recharge the battery relatively quickly.
For security, the smartphone is equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner, offering a convenient biometric authentication option.
Despite housing a large battery, the device maintains a relatively slim profile with a thickness of 7.55mm.
