Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Complete Hardware Specs and Launch Timeline

Motorola is preparing to launch its new premium smartphone in India, and ahead of the official debut, the company has now revealed the full specifications of the upcoming Motorola Edge 70 Pro+. The smartphone was recently teased through a Flipkart microsite, but its listing on Motorola India's website now confirms nearly everything, including the display, cameras, battery, design, and software support.

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is scheduled to launch in India on March 4 and is expected to become the most premium device in the Edge 70 lineup so far.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Expected Specifications

The phone appears heavily focused on photography, display quality, and premium design. Motorola has equipped the Edge 70 Pro+ with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display featuring a 2772×1272 resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and an eye-catching peak brightness of 5,200 nits. The panel also carries Pantone colour validation and includes SGS certifications to reduce blue light exposure and motion blur during use.

Under the hood, the device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. Motorola is also promising three years of Android OS updates and five years of security patches, with the phone shipping with Android 16 out of the box.

Cameras appear to be one of the biggest upgrades on the Edge 70 Pro+. The smartphone uses a triple 50-megapixel rear camera setup led by Sony's LYTIA 710 sensor with optical image stabilisation. The second sensor handles ultra-wide and macro photography, while the third camera is a periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom and up to 50x AI-powered Super Zoom support.

On the front, Motorola has included a 50-megapixel autofocus selfie camera. Video recording capabilities also appear fairly advanced for the segment, supporting up to 4K HDR10+ recording at 60fps alongside 4K slow-motion recording at 120fps.

Battery life could become another major highlight. The Edge 70 Pro+ is expected to feature a large 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery while still maintaining a relatively slim profile. The phone measures between 7.19mm and 7.34mm in thickness and weighs around 190 grams.

Charging options include 90W wired fast charging, 15W wireless charging, 10W reverse wireless charging, and 5W wired reverse charging.

Motorola has also included several premium features typically found on higher-end flagships. These include IP68 and IP69 water resistance ratings, MIL-STD-810H durability certification, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and ThinkShield security features.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Expected Pricing

Design also seems to be a major focus this year. The Edge 70 Pro+ will launch in Pantone-inspired finishes, including Stormy Sea, Zinfandel, and Chicory Coffee. Motorola is using unique rear textures inspired by wood, silk, and twill materials to help differentiate the device visually from competitors.

In terms of pricing, Motorola has not officially revealed the Indian price yet. However, considering the standard Edge 70 Pro launched at Rs 38,999, the Pro+ variant is expected to sit under Rs 50,000. If priced aggressively, the device could compete directly against premium mid-range rivals from OnePlus, iQOO, Vivo, and Realme, especially for users prioritising camera versatility and premium design features.
