Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ India Launch Date Confirmed for June 4: Expected Specifications, Camera, and More

Motorola is all set to expand its Edge smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, which will be the most premium offering in the Edge 70 series to date. The new smartphone will join the existing Motorola Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, and Edge 70 Pro in the country.

Motorola has officially announced that the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ will be launched in India on June 4. Flipkart will be selling the smartphone, and it is also expected to come with introductory launch offers, but Motorola has yet to reveal details on those.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Expected Specs

The biggest highlight of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is perhaps an upgraded camera system. Motorola has confirmed the smartphone will have a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. That's a big step up from the standard Edge 70 Pro, which doesn't have a periscope lens.

The Edge 70 Pro+ will come with dedicated optical zoom hardware, which should lead to better long-range photography, sharper portrait shots, and better image detail when zooming. Motorola is also offering up to 50x AI-powered Super Zoom Pro, though actual image quality at higher zoom levels will likely depend heavily on software optimisation.

The main rear camera houses a 50MP Sony Lytia 710 sensor with optical image stabilisation. Motorola said the phone will feature improved frame stabilisation for videos, and improvements for low-light photography and motion capture.

The Edge 70 Pro+ seems to be up against competitors such as the Realme 16 Pro+, which also focuses on periscope zoom photography in the upper mid-range segment.

Alongside the cameras, Motorola is doubling down on its recent focus on material-driven designs and Pantone-inspired finishes. The smartphone will come in three finishes: Pantone Chicory Coffee with a sculpted wood texture, Pantone Stormy Sea with a twill-inspired finish, and Pantone Zinfandel with a satin-luxe texture.

Teaser images also reveal an additional hardware button on the left side of the smartphone. Motorola hasn't confirmed this feature officially yet, but it could be a shortcut button for AI tools, camera controls, or personalized actions.

Motorola has not yet revealed the complete specifications of the Edge 70 Pro+, but previous leaks have claimed a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme SoC, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, IP68 and IP69 ratings, and a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Expected Pricing

Motorola Edge 70 Pro was launched in India starting at Rs 38,999, so the Edge 70 Pro+ will be launched at a higher price, likely between Rs 45,000 and Rs 55,000.

That price would pit the smartphone against the likes of the Realme 16 Pro+, OnePlus 15R, and the Vivo V70 series. Some rivals may have more gaming-centric chipsets, but Motorola seems to be prioritizing camera versatility, premium design, and battery life to set the Edge 70 Pro+ apart.

A periscope telephoto camera could help Motorola stand out in a segment where optical zoom features are still relatively rare. But ultimately, the final pricing and real-world camera performance will likely determine how competitive the smartphone ends up being once reviews come in post-launch.
