Motorola appears to be preparing to launch another premium smartphone in India shortly after introducing the Motorola Edge 70 Pro in the country. A new Flipkart microsite for an upcoming Motorola device has now gone live, strongly hinting at the arrival of the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+.
While the company has not officially confirmed the name of the smartphone yet, the webpage URL itself references the Edge 70 Pro+ branding. The timing also matches earlier leaks suggesting a late-May launch for the device in India. If launched, this would become the first Pro+ model in Motorola’s Edge lineup for the Indian market.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Design and Camera Features
The teaser page reveals a smartphone that closely follows Motorola’s recent premium design language. Promotional images show the device in a burgundy colour option with a curved rear panel and a triple-camera setup.
Motorola is also highlighting material finishes as a key part of the phone’s design. The company has confirmed three finishes so far: Satin-Luxe, Sculpted Wood, and a Twill-inspired texture. Over the past few generations, Motorola has increasingly focused on textures, materials, and Pantone-inspired colour collaborations to differentiate its devices from rivals that have shifted toward flatter and more uniform designs.
The camera module teaser also includes references to “LYTIA,” “OIS,” “2.0µm,” and “12.81 mm focal length.” This strongly suggests the use of Sony’s LYTIA imaging sensors alongside optical image stabilisation. Motorola is additionally emphasizing portrait photography in its teasers, which hints that the phone could include a dedicated telephoto camera.
Expected Specifications
Reports suggest the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ could essentially be a rebranded version of the global Edge 70 Pro for India. That would be significant because the Indian Edge 70 Pro launched with a slightly trimmed-down feature set compared to the global model.
If Motorola brings the full global specifications this time, the Edge 70 Pro+ may include features such as wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, eSIM support, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom.
The expected hardware includes a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. The phone is also expected to feature IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.
Battery capacity could be another major highlight. The device is tipped to pack a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging.
Expected Price and Competition
Globally, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro launched at EUR 799, which roughly converts to around Rs 89,000. However, pricing in India is expected to be significantly more aggressive.
The standard Motorola Edge 70 Pro currently starts at Rs 38,999 in India, while Motorola’s higher-end Motorola Signature flagship starts at Rs 59,999. This leaves room for the Edge 70 Pro+ to potentially launch in the Rs 40,000 to Rs 55,000 segment.
That would place it in direct competition with smartphones such as the Vivo V70 series, OnePlus 15R, and iQOO 15R. While OnePlus and iQOO may offer stronger raw performance with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chips, Motorola could focus more heavily on design, battery life, and camera versatility to stand out.
If Motorola brings the complete global feature set to India this time, the Edge 70 Pro+ could become a more balanced flagship alternative for buyers looking for premium features without moving into ultra-premium pricing territory.
