Motorola g max Launched in India With 7,000mAh Battery, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, Sony LYTIA 600 Camera

Motorola has expanded its G-series smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the moto g max. Positioned as an all-round smartphone in the sub-Rs 30,000 segment, the device combines a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 camera, and Android 16.

Moto g max Specifications And Features

The moto g max features a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,050 nits High Brightness Mode, Water Touch technology, and Display Color Boost for improved visibility in outdoor conditions. Motorola has also introduced a Luxury Satin-inspired finish for the first time in the G series, with the handset available in PANTONE Stargazer, PANTONE Alaskan Blue, and PANTONE Malaga colour options.

Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4nm process. It is paired with 6GB LPDDR5X RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, and supports RAM Boost technology that can virtually expand memory up to 18GB. The device runs Android 16 out of the box and includes Google Gemini, Moto Secure, ThinkShield for Mobile, and promises two Android OS upgrades along with three years of security updates.

For photography, the moto g max sports a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 primary camera with Quad Pixel technology, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, the smartphone features a 32MP Quad Pixel selfie camera. Motorola has also included AI-powered imaging features such as Photo Enhancement Engine, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Reimagine, Auto Frame, Portrait Blur, and Color Pop through Google Photos integration. Other camera features include Adobe Scan, Dual Capture, Night Vision, Pro Mode, and support for 2K video recording at 30fps.

Battery life is one of the key highlights of the moto g max. It packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola claims can deliver up to 63 hours of usage on a single charge. The device supports 33W TurboPower fast charging and includes Battery Care technology designed to maintain battery health for up to 1,000 charging cycles.

Motorola has also focused on durability. The smartphone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification, and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, dual microphones, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.1, dual SIM support, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Motorola g max Price in India, Availability

The moto g max is available in a single 6GB + 128GB configuration with an official price of Rs 27,999. As part of the launch offers, buyers can avail a Rs 1,000 instant bank discount, bringing the effective price down to Rs 26,999. The smartphone will go on sale from August 20 via Flipkart, Motorola.in, and authorised offline retail stores. Motorola is also bundling a Jio offer that includes 5TB of Google Cloud storage, Gemini Pro subscription for 18 months, and access to select OTT benefits with eligible plans.

Motorola is doubling down on battery life in the competitive sub-Rs 30,000 segment. While a 7,000mAh battery immediately grabs attention, the moto g max also brings meaningful upgrades in areas such as storage speed, software experience, durability, and camera hardware. The inclusion of Android 16, Gorilla Glass 7i, and LPDDR5X RAM gives it a well-rounded specification sheet. However, with rivals increasingly offering AMOLED displays and newer Snapdragon 7-series processors in this price range, the moto g max's overall value proposition will ultimately depend on its real-world camera performance and battery endurance.
