OnePlus has officially confirmed the launch of its next-generation Nord CE lineup in India, introducing the OnePlus Nord CE 6 and OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite. The smartphones are positioned to build on the company's core philosophy of delivering a "fast and smooth" experience, while focusing on performance, battery life, and refined design for everyday users.
The launch is scheduled for May 7 at 12 PM IST, with more details on pricing and availability expected at the event.
Design And Availability
OnePlus has revealed the colour options ahead of launch. The Nord CE 6 will be available in Fresh Blue, Lunar Pearl, and Pitch Black, while the Nord CE 6 Lite will come in Vivid Mint and Hyper Black.
The design language appears to follow the Nord series' clean aesthetic, targeting users who want a premium look without flagship pricing.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 Specifications
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a mid-range processor designed for efficient performance and gaming.
OnePlus is also introducing a dedicated Touch Reflex chip, creating a dual-chip architecture to increase responsiveness. The company claims this setup can deliver up to 144 FPS gameplay with a touch sampling rate of 3200Hz, improving precision during gaming sessions.
Additionally, the phone includes a 6-axis gaming gyroscope and a large vapor chamber cooling system exceeding 33,000 mm², which should help maintain performance during extended gaming.
The Nord CE 6 will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, offering smoother visuals and better clarity for both gaming and media consumption.
On the durability front, the device is expected to offer quad IP ratings (IP66, IP68, IP69, IP69K), making it highly resistant to dust and water. It has also reportedly passed MIL-STD-810H certification, indicating durability under extreme conditions.
One of the standout features is the massive battery. The Nord CE 6 is tipped to pack an 8,000mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, which could deliver over two days of usage on a single charge.
It will also support bypass charging – useful for gaming – and 27W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to power other devices.
What About The Nord CE 6 Lite?
While OnePlus has confirmed the Nord CE 6 Lite alongside the standard model, detailed specifications remain limited. However, it is expected to target a more budget-conscious segment, offering toned-down performance and features compared to the main CE 6.
What is the bigger picture?
The Nord CE 6 series reflects OnePlus' continued push in the mid-range segment, where competition is intensifying. With features like high-refresh-rate displays, large batteries, and gaming-focused enhancements, the company appears to be targeting power users who want flagship-like experiences at a lower price point.
Interestingly, leaks suggest that the broader Nord lineup – including the standard Nord 6 – could push boundaries further with even larger batteries and flagship-grade chipsets.
