Oppo has confirmed that its upcoming Find X10 Pro Max will be among the first smartphones globally to feature MediaTek's newly launched flagship Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. The announcement was made at MediaTek Tech Day in Delhi, with both companies highlighting improvements in performance, power efficiency, on-device AI, gaming, and imaging.
The Dimensity 9600 Pro 2nm architecture uses a 2+3+3 All Big Core CPU configuration, with two C2-Ultra cores clocked at up to 4.55GHz. MediaTek claims the chipset delivers up to 17% higher single-core performance and 15% higher multi-core performance over the previous generation, while reducing multi-core power consumption by 61%.
Focus On On-Device AI
The Dimensity 9600 Pro also puts a major focus on on-device AI. It features a dual-NPU architecture and MediaTek's Dimensity Agentic AI Engine, which is designed to enable AI features that can understand context, anticipate user needs and coordinate tasks across apps.
MediaTek also claims that its second-generation Super-Efficient NPU can reduce always-on AI power consumption by 40%, while the NPU 1090 offers 51% higher LLM prefill performance and 55% higher token generation per watt. The chipset can also support AI models with up to 30 billion parameters.
Gaming And Camera Upgrades
For gaming, the chipset features MediaTek's G2-Ultra NX GPU, which claims to deliver up to 27% higher peak performance, 24% lower power consumption and 18% faster ray tracing compared to the previous generation. It supports gaming at up to 185fps and comes with MediaTek HyperEngine for optimising gameplay.
The Dimensity 9600 Pro also features the Imagiq 1290 ISP and AI Imaging Fusion Architecture. It supports capabilities including NPU-powered 60fps motion capture, 4K recording at up to 240fps, 4K60 AI True Color Tone and 4K120 cinematic log.
Oppo's Laminar Flow Engine
With the upcoming Find X10 Series, Oppo will also debut its Laminar Flow Engine technology, jointly developed with MediaTek. Oppo says the technology restructures the rendering architecture and coordinates it with system scheduling to improve responsiveness and power efficiency.
The company claims it can also help speed up app launches and maintain smoother content loading during demanding tasks such as rapidly browsing through photos.
The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max is expected to launch in India in the coming weeks. More details about the phone, including its camera hardware, display, battery and pricing, are expected closer to the launch.
