Oppo has officially confirmed that the upcoming Find X9s is heading to India, and if the rumors hold any water, it might just be the “small” phone we have all been waiting for. The confirmation dropped during the recent MediaTek Tech Day, where it was revealed that the device will be powered by the new Dimensity 9500s chipset.
While the standard Find X9 and the Pro model are already out in global markets, the “s” variant is shaping up to be something different – a compact flagship that refuses to act like a watered-down version of its bigger siblings.
Let's be honest: if you love small phones, the last few years have been rough. The market has been obsessed with “bigger is better,” leaving those of us with average-sized hands or small pockets with very few options. The Asus Zenfone grew up, the iPhone Mini died, and even Samsung's base S-series feels like it’s drifting toward the larger side.
Oppo seems to have spotted this gaping hole in the market. Reports suggest a launch window between April and June 2026 in India. If they pull this off, the Find X9S could effectively revive the premium compact segment all by itself.
Oppo Find X9s Expected Specifications
The heart of this device is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s. Built on a 3nm process, this “s” series chip is designed specifically for efficiency. In plain English, that means it's built to run cool. Small phones notoriously struggle with heat because there is less physical space to dissipate it, leading to throttling during gaming or heavy multitasking. If this chip lives up to the hype, the Find X9s could deliver sustained flagship performance without turning into a pocket heater.
Usually, buying a smaller phone means giving up the best cameras. You get the main sensor, sure, but you lose the fancy zoom lens. The Find X9s is apparently throwing that rulebook out the window. Rumours point to a dual 200MP setup – a massive main sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. If true, that is absurd for a phone this size. It would make it a legitimate photography powerhouse, capable of capturing the kind of zoom shots usually reserved for massive “Ultra” phones.
Perhaps the most jaw-dropping leak is the battery. We are hearing whispers of a 7,000mAh cell. For context, most compact phones struggle to fit 4,000mAh. If Oppo has actually figured out how to cram a battery that size into a 6.3-inch device, it changes the game entirely. It would eliminate the biggest anxiety of owning a small phone: the midday charge.
Oppo Find X9s Expected Pricing and is it the one?
We are still waiting on official pricing, but looking at the Find X9's price tag of around Rs 74,999, the X9s will likely land in similar premium territory. However, for a device that offers a 1.5K AMOLED screen, IP69 water resistance, and specs that rival the biggest phones on the market, it might actually be worth it.
For now, if you are planning to buy a flagship in early 2026 and you value pocketability, put your wallet away. The Find X9s is coming, and it might just be the most important launch of the year for those of us who believe good things come in small packages.
