Oppo launches A6x 5G in India with 6,500mAh battery and 45W fast charging

Oppo just added another contender to India's crowded budget market with the Oppo A6x 5G. Sitting squarely in the sub-₹15,000 category, this phone is taking on heavy hitters like Redmi, Realme, and Samsung's M-series.
Oppo A6x 5G Pricing in India
If you are looking to pick one up, it goes on sale starting today (December 3) on Amazon, Flipkart, and Oppo's own store. You can grab it in Ice Blue or Olive Green, with prices starting at ₹12,499 for the base model (4GB/64GB). The top-end version (6GB/128GB) will set you back ₹14,999.
Oppo A6x 5G Specifications
Oppo isn’t trying to win the “highest specs on paper” war here. Instead, it’s focusing on the stuff that actually matters for daily use.
The screen is a highlight: a large 6.75-inch HD+ LCD that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. That is a big deal because many rivals in this price bracket—like the Redmi 13C—still cap out at 90Hz. The A6x should feel noticeably smoother when you are scrolling through Instagram or navigating menus.
Under the hood, it’s running the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. It's a reliable workhorse for this price point—similar to what we see in other budget 5G favourites. It's not built for heavy gaming (so don't expect flawless Genshin Impact sessions), but for WhatsApp, browsing, and streaming, it will handle things just fine.
But the real “killer feature” here is the battery. Oppo packed in a massive 6,500mAh cell, which is significantly larger than the standard 5,000mAh batteries we usually see. Even better, it supports 45W SuperVOOC fast charging. For context, Samsung's Galaxy M14 also has a big battery but charges much more slowly.
The cameras are fairly basic—a 13MP rear shooter and a 5MP selfie cam. It's clear Oppo cut costs here to pay for that big battery and smooth screen, so keep your expectations in check for low-light photography.
The Oppo A6x 5G is a very specific tool for a specific type of user. It is not for gamers, and it is definitely not for photography enthusiasts.
Instead, this is the perfect phone for students or parents who need a phone that lasts all day (and then some). First-time 5G users who want a smooth screen and reliable connectivity, or anyone tired of carrying a power bank.
