Oppo Reno 15 Series to launch in India on January 8: Expected price, specifications

Oppo is gearing up to expand its mid-premium footprint in India with the official debut of the Oppo Reno 15 series on January 8, 2026. This time around, the brand is leaning heavily into photography-led differentiation, introducing three distinct models: the Reno 15 5G, the Reno 15 Pro 5G, and a brand-new compact entrant, the Reno 15 Pro Mini 5G.

Oppo Reno 15 Series Specifications

With the Reno 15 lineup, Oppo is doubling down on its “Portrait Master” identity. The standout feature across the Pro models is a massive 200-megapixel primary sensor – a first for the Reno series in India. This is paired with a 50-megapixel 3.5x telephoto portrait lens and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, creating a versatile system that rivals many high-end flagships.

Oppo is also introducing its new PureTone Technology, which uses AI to analyze lighting and environment in real-time. The goal is to move away from the “over-processed” look common in mid-range phones, focusing instead on natural skin tones and realistic depth. For those who care about the fine details, the telephoto lens even supports up to 120x digital zoom, though its real strength lies in that classic 85mm-equivalent portrait focal length.

The imaging hardware is backed by a suite of AI-driven tools under the AI Editor 3.0 umbrella. New features like AI Portrait Glow and AI Motion Photo allow users to add professional-grade lighting effects or turn still shots into dynamic, live-action clips with a single tap.

Video hasn’t been ignored either. All three cameras on the Pro variants can record in 4K HDR at 60fps, and the main sensor uses Dual Conversion Gain technology. This effectively “reads” the light twice to pull more detail out of shadows and prevent highlights from blowing out, making it a powerful tool for vloggers and social media creators who often shoot in tricky lighting.

The Reno 15 series introduces HoloFusion Technology, a design process that gives the glass back a deep, 3D-layered look. The “Dynamic Stellar Ring” around the camera module even creates a subtle halo effect when it catches the light.

Despite the stylish exteriors, these phones are surprisingly tough. They feature an aerospace-grade aluminum frame and “Sponge Bionic Cushioning,” an internal structure designed to absorb the shock from accidental drops. They are also among the most rugged in their class, carrying IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings – meaning they can handle everything from a heavy rainstorm to high-pressure water jets.

What this means for buyers

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset on the Pro models, which prioritizes efficiency and AI tasks over pure gaming benchmarks. The Reno 15 Pro Mini is particularly interesting, packing a huge 6,200mAh battery and 80W charging into a palm-friendly 6.32-inch form factor.

With expected effective pricing starting around ₹59,999 for the Pro Mini (12GB/256GB), Oppo is targeting users who want a premium, camera-centric experience without the bulk of a massive flagship. The series will be available through Flipkart, Amazon, and Oppo's online store, with official bank offers and full pricing details expected at the January 8 launch event.
