Realme is expanding its 16 Series lineup with the upcoming Realme 16 5G in India. With this launch, the brand appears to be focusing on camera-led differentiation, especially with what it calls India's first "Selfie Mirror Phone”. This is the highlighted feature here, which is claimed to allow users to preview shots in real time for better framing and detail. While this sounds interesting on paper, its real-world utility remains to be seen, considering most smartphones already offer live previews through their back cameras. Apart from this, several specifications of the realme 16 5G have surfaced online, giving us a clearer picture of what to expect from the device.
Realme 16 5G Specifications (Expected)
The realme 16 5G is expected to feature a 6.57-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. It is also tipped to offer a peak brightness of 4,200 nits, along with DT Star D+ glass protection.
For performance, the smartphone could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. On the software front, it is likely to run on Android 16-based realme UI 7.0.
In terms of cameras, the device is expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera along with a 2-megapixel monochrome lens. And for selfies and video calls, it may include a 50-megapixel front camera. The realme 16 5G is also tipped to pack a 7000mAh battery with 60-watt fast charging and reverse charging support, which could be one of its standout features if implemented well.
Other expected features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, 5G connectivity, and standard sensors, along with a relatively slim and lightweight design at around 183 grams. The smartphone is likely to launch in White Swan and Black Cloud colour options and may be available in 8GB and 12GB RAM variants.
As for the launch and pricing, Realme hasn’t announced much about the smartphone, but we are expecting a price hike compared to last year’s. The Realme 16 5G is expected to launch in India at around Rs 30,000.
