Realme has announced the first sale of the realme 16T 5G in India starting May 27 at 12 PM. The smartphone will be available via Flipkart, realme.com, and mainline retail stores, with prices starting at Rs. 26,999 under launch offers. The device brings a strong focus on battery endurance, durability, and AI-backed imaging features, while also introducing what realme calls the segment's first rear Selfie Mirror.
Realme 16T 5G Packs 8,000mAh Battery With 45W Fast Charging
The biggest highlight of the realme 16T 5G is its 8,000mAh battery, which the company claims is capable of delivering up to three days of heavy usage. Realme says the phone is designed for extended gaming, streaming, social media usage, and multitasking with reduced charging anxiety.
The device also includes what realme calls a "7-year battery health solution," featuring intelligent charging optimisation, advanced battery protection, reverse charging, all-scenario bypass charging, temperature management, and overcharge protection. The smartphone supports 45W fast charging as well. Realme has paired the battery-focused setup with realme UI 7.0 and the new Flux Engine, which the company says delivers smoother multitasking and up to six years of fluency protection. Gamers also get optimised thermals, stable frame rates, and power management enhancements.
Sony IMX852 Camera and Selfie Mirror Aim at Content Creators
On the camera front, the realme 16T 5G features a 50MP Sony IMX852 AI Portrait Camera powered by the LumaColor Imaging Engine. Realme claims the setup improves portraits, textures, skin tones, and lighting performance using features like RAW HDR processing and AI Portrait Glow.
The device also introduces a rear Selfie Mirror alongside AI tools such as AI Popout Collage, AI StyleMe, and AI Instant Clip. Realme is positioning these features toward younger users focused on social media content creation and expressive photography. Durability is another major focus area. The smartphone comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings alongside military-grade shock resistance.

The realme 16T 5G is available in Aurora Green, Starlight Red, and Starlight Black colour options. Pricing is as follows:

Realme Pushes Battery and Durability as Key Differentiators
With the realme 16T 5G, the company is clearly leaning heavily into battery endurance and durability rather than chasing ultra-thin designs. An 8,000mAh battery is still uncommon even in the broader smartphone market, especially in the premium mid-range segment. At the same time, the combination of IP69K protection and military-grade shock resistance gives the phone a more rugged positioning than most devices in this price category. The rear Selfie Mirror is also an interesting addition. While it may sound like a small hardware feature, it directly targets users who prefer using the rear camera for selfies and short-form content instead of relying solely on front cameras.
