Realme has confirmed that the Realme 16T 5G will launch in India on May 22, expanding the company's Realme 16 series lineup. The smartphone will become the fourth model in the series, joining the existing Realme 16, Realme 16 Pro, and Realme 16 Pro+.
Alongside the launch date announcement, Realme has also revealed several key details about the upcoming handset, including its battery capacity, design, charging features, and availability. Dedicated microsites for the device are now live on both Realme's official website and Flipkart.
Launch Date and Expected Availability
The company confirmed the launch date through its official social media channels. The Realme 16T 5G will debut in India on May 22 at 12 PM IST.
The smartphone will be available in three colour options: Starlight Black, Starlight Red, and a blue variant. Once launched, the handset will go on sale through Flipkart and the Realme India online store.
Realme 16T 5G Expected Specifications
The biggest highlight of the Realme 16T 5G is its large 8,000mAh battery, which Realme refers to as a "Titan Battery." Battery capacity appears to be the phone's main focus, with the company claiming up to three days of usage on a single charge under certain conditions.
According to Realme, the handset can deliver up to 14.3 hours of gaming, 34 hours of social media usage, or nearly 22 hours of navigation. The company also claims the battery is designed to maintain long-term durability for up to seven years of usage.
Charging features include support for 45W wired fast charging, bypass charging, and wired reverse charging. Bypass charging can help reduce heat generation during gaming by supplying power directly to the phone instead of continuously charging the battery.
In terms of design, the Realme 16T 5G features a flat rear panel with a square-shaped camera module positioned on the top-left corner. The camera island houses a dual-camera setup, an LED flash, and what Realme refers to as a selfie mirror.
The power button and volume controls are located on the right side of the device, while the left side appears clean. Realme has also confirmed that the phone measures 8.8mm in thickness.
Although the company has not officially revealed the processor yet, the Realme 16T 5G was recently spotted on Geekbench. The listing suggests the smartphone could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset.
The octa-core processor reportedly includes two performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six efficiency cores running at 2GHz, paired with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
The benchmark listing also suggests the device may launch with at least 8GB of RAM and run Android 16 out of the box.
Realme 16T 5G: What to Expect
The Realme 16T 5G appears to focus heavily on battery life and long-term usability rather than flagship-level specifications. With its 8,000mAh battery, fast charging support, and relatively slim design, the smartphone is likely aimed at users prioritising endurance and day-to-day reliability.
More details, including the full camera specifications, pricing, and storage variants, are expected to be announced closer to launch.
