Realme has expanded its entry-level smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Realme C83 5G. The new handset arrives as part of the company's C-series lineup, which focuses on offering strong battery life, reliable performance, and modern features at an affordable price point.
The Realme C83 5G is designed to cater to users looking for a budget-friendly smartphone with 5G connectivity and long battery endurance. One of the biggest highlights of the device is its massive 7,000mAh battery, which Realme calls a "Titan Battery," aimed at delivering extended usage for everyday tasks such as streaming, browsing, and gaming without frequent charging.
Realme C83 5G Specifications
One of the key highlights of the Realme C83 5G is its 7,000mAh "Titan Battery", which the company claims is the largest battery available in its segment. Traditionally, such large battery capacities have been limited to mid-range or gaming-focused smartphones. However, manufacturers are increasingly bringing 6,000mAh and even 7,000mAh batteries to budget devices as consumers demand longer battery life for activities such as gaming, video streaming, and social media usage.
The phone supports 15W PD and 15W DCP charging, which Realme claims can fully charge the battery in about 180 minutes. In addition, the device supports 5W wired reverse charging, allowing users to charge accessories like earbuds or other small devices using the phone.
Powering the Realme C83 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, built on a 6nm manufacturing process. This chipset has become a common choice in the budget 5G segment due to its balanced performance and efficiency. The device is available with 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, paired with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.
Realme has also included its Dynamic RAM Expansion feature, which allows the phone to allocate additional virtual RAM, expanding the total memory capacity up to 18GB. Storage can also be extended significantly through external support, with the device allowing expansion of up to 2TB via OTG.
On the front, the Realme C83 5G features a 6.7-inch LCD display with a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. This refresh rate is notably higher than the 90Hz or 120Hz panels commonly seen in the sub-Rs 15,000 price segment. The higher refresh rate should deliver smoother scrolling, improved animations, and a more responsive experience during gaming and everyday navigation.
To ensure stable performance during prolonged usage, Realme has included a 5334mm² airflow vapour chamber cooling system, which the company claims is the largest cooling solution in this segment. This system is designed to improve heat dissipation and maintain consistent performance during gaming or extended multimedia sessions.
Realme has also introduced an AI Outdoor Mode with the C83 5G. This feature automatically adjusts the device's settings when used outdoors by boosting system performance, increasing speaker volume, improving network responsiveness, and enhancing display brightness.
In terms of durability, the smartphone includes military-grade shock resistance and an IP64 rating for protection against dust and splashes. The device also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for quick unlocking and security.
For photography, the Realme C83 5G is equipped with a 13MP AI rear camera that supports features such as Live Photo. On the front, the device includes a 5MP selfie camera housed inside a waterdrop-style notch. While suitable for basic photography and video calls, the camera setup is fairly modest compared to some competing devices in the same price segment.
The smartphone runs Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0, bringing updated animations, improved system optimisation, and a refined user interface.
Overall, the Realme C83 5G appears to be targeted at buyers who prioritise battery endurance and display smoothness over advanced camera capabilities. The large 7,000mAh battery is likely to be one of the device's strongest selling points, especially for users who need a phone that can comfortably last through heavy daily usage.
The 144Hz display also helps the device stand out in the budget 5G segment, making it competitive against other smartphones in the sub-Rs 15,000 category. However, users looking for stronger camera performance or faster charging speeds may find alternative options in the same price range.
For buyers seeking a budget-friendly 5G smartphone with excellent battery life and a smooth display experience, the Realme C83 5G could be a practical option worth considering.
