Realme Launches Realme 16T In India With Massive 8000mAh Battery And 144Hz Display

Realme has expanded its Realme 16 smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the new Realme 16T. Positioned as the most affordable model in the series, the smartphone joins the existing Realme 16 5G, Realme 16 Pro, and Realme 16 Pro Plus. Alongside the new phone, the company also introduced the Realme Buds Air 8 Pro and the Realme Watch S5.

The Realme 16T arrives with a strong focus on battery life, durability, and multimedia performance. The smartphone packs a massive 8000mAh battery, a MediaTek Dimensity chipset, and a high refresh rate display, while also introducing a unique selfie mirror design on the rear panel.

Realme 16T Specifications

At the front, the Realme 16T features a 6.8-inch LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1570×720 pixels. While the HD+ resolution may feel modest compared to some competing devices in this price range, the higher refresh rate is designed to deliver smoother scrolling, gaming, and animations.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with the Mali-G57 MC GPU. The chipset is aimed at mainstream users looking for balanced day-to-day performance across multitasking, streaming, and casual gaming.

For cameras, the Realme 16T includes a 50-megapixel Sony AI rear camera alongside a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The company is also highlighting the rear selfie mirror feature, which may appeal to users who frequently use the main camera for self-portraits and social media content.

However, the biggest talking point remains the battery. Realme has equipped the phone with a massive 8000mAh battery supported by 45W wired fast charging and 15W reverse charging. The company claims the battery is designed to maintain health for up to seven years, while the software promises up to six years of "fluency protection" through realme UI 7.0.

Durability is another major focus area. The Realme 16T carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance, certifications usually associated with rugged or higher-end devices.

Realme Buds Air 8 Pro And Watch S5 Also Launched

Alongside the smartphone, Realme unveiled the Buds Air 8 Pro wireless earbuds. The earbuds feature 55dB active noise cancellation, dual drivers, LHDC 5.0 codec support, Bluetooth 6.1, and up to 50 hours of battery life. Gamers also get a 45ms low-latency mode.

The new Realme Watch S5 comes with a 1.43-inch AMOLED display capable of reaching 1500 nits of brightness. The smartwatch supports built-in GPS, five satellite positioning systems, Bluetooth calling, health monitoring features, and over 110 sports modes. Realme claims the wearable can last up to 20 days on a single charge.
