Realme has unveiled its newest budget-performance smartphone, the Realme P4x, in India, positioning it as a device built for heavy users, mid-range gamers, and battery-hungry consumers who don't want to spend flagship money. Announced alongside the new Realme Watch 5, the P4x signals Realme's continued push in the highly competitive Rs 15,000 – Rs 20,000 smartphone market – a segment increasingly defined by gaming performance, battery life, and value-driven hardware choices.
Visually, the Realme P4x stands out with what the company calls an "aerospace-inspired design," featuring a vertical pill-shaped camera module and bold Realme branding. Despite packing a huge 7,000mAh battery, the phone maintains a thickness of 8.39mm and weighs 208 grams, which is fairly manageable when compared to other big-battery competitors. Realme is leaning heavily into its gaming pitch with a 6.72-inch display that supports a 144Hz refresh rate, giving users smoother scrolling, faster animation response, and a more fluid gameplay experience. Dual speakers and 1,000 nits of peak brightness further strengthen its media chops.
Realme P4x Pricing and availability in India
The Realme P4x goes on sale on December 10, beginning with a 12-hour first sale window on realme.com, Flipkart, and offline partners. Pricing starts at ₹15,999 for 6GB/128GB, ₹17,499 for 8GB/128GB, and ₹19,499 for 8GB/256GB. Discounts include a ₹1,000 coupon and up to ₹1,500 in bank offers online, while offline buyers get ₹2,500 in instant bank discounts.

Under the hood, the Realme P4x is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra, a chipset that Realme claims pushes the device to over 780,000 AnTuTu points – a strong score for this price. Realme says the phone can hit 90 FPS in BGMI and Call of Duty Mobile and up to 120 FPS in Free Fire, supported by a vapour cooling chamber meant to keep temperatures in check during extended gaming sessions. For photography, the phone uses a 50MP main shooter with 4K recording support, aided by AI features such as Motion Deblur, Glare Remover, and an Eraser tool. On the front, an 8MP camera handles selfies.
The battery is clearly the highlight. The 7,000mAh unit promises multi-day endurance, especially for casual users, and supports 45W wired fast charging along with Bypass Charging to reduce heat while gaming on charge. In a market where most mid-range devices stick to 5,000–6,000mAh batteries, Realme is positioning battery longevity as a key differentiator.
In terms of competition, the phone arrives just ahead of Xiaomi's newly launched Redmi 15C 5G, priced lower at Rs 12,499 but offering weaker performance through the Dimensity 6300 chipset and a smaller 6,000mAh battery. The Redmi does offer 10W reverse charging – something missing on the P4x – but for raw performance and refresh rate, Realme has the clear upper hand.
Realme paired the P4x launch with the debut of the Realme Watch 5, featuring a large 1.97-inch AMOLED display, GPS, and HD calling at a compelling Rs 4,499 (Rs 500 off during the first sale). The pairing of a performance phone with an affordable smartwatch shows Realme's strategy of building a connected ecosystem in the budget segment – mirroring what Xiaomi has done successfully for years.
Should you buy the Realme P4x?
For buyers, the P4x makes the most sense if your priorities are gaming, battery life, and display smoothness. It does not try to be an all-rounder in the classic sense – its camera system, for example, isn't its strongest asset – but as a high-performance budget phone, it delivers compelling value. The Redmi 15C 5G undercuts it on pricing, but Realme is clearly aiming for the "performance-first" crowd rather than the "value-first" audience.
With a massive battery, high refresh rate, and gaming-ready silicon, the Realme P4x is positioned to become one of the most aggressive budget performance phones of the season.
