Xiaomi has announced the sale of the REDMI Note 17 5G in India, bringing the company’s biggest-ever 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery to the REDMI Note lineup. The smartphone also features a 120Hz TrueColour AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, and up to three days of claimed battery life. The REDMI Note 17 is positioned as a battery-focused smartphone that also promises a balanced multimedia and everyday performance experience.
Redmi Note 17 Specifications And Features
The biggest highlight of the REDMI Note 17 is its 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Xiaomi claims can last up to three days on typical usage. Despite housing such a large battery, the phone measures 8.4mm thick. It also supports 45W turbo charging with the charger included in the box, along with 22.5W reverse wired charging for powering compatible accessories and other devices.
On the front, the REDMI Note 17 sports a 6.9-inch TrueColour AMOLED display with a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, and up to 1,800 nits peak brightness. Xiaomi has also equipped the device with HydroTouch 2.0 for improved touch responsiveness in wet conditions, 200% volume speakers, and TÜV Rheinland Eye Care certifications to enhance the multimedia experience.
Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset built on a 4nm process. The device offers up to 16GB RAM with memory extension, supports up to 2TB expandable storage, and includes a 10,416mm² graphite cooling system. Xiaomi also says its Long-Term Fluency Engine is designed to keep the phone running smoothly for up to 48 months.
For photography, the REDMI Note 17 comes equipped with a 50MP AI dual rear camera and an 8MP AI front camera. Camera features include Night Mode, AI HDR, Dynamic Shots, AI Editor, and 2x in-sensor zoom. The smartphone runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3 and is promised to receive four years of Android updates and six years of security updates. It also features Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
Redmi Note 17 Pricing
The REDMI Note 17 is available in Dark Night, Arctic Blue, and Starlight Purple colour options. The 6GB + 128GB variant is available at an introductory price of ₹24,999, while the 8GB + 128GB model is priced at ₹27,999. These prices include an instant ₹3,000 bank discount on SBI Card, Axis Bank, and Kotak Bank credit card and EMI transactions. Buyers will also receive 5TB of JioAI Cloud storage, three months of YouTube Premium Lite, and six months of Google One (200GB). The smartphone is available through mi.com, Amazon Specials, and Xiaomi Retail stores across India.
The REDMI Note 17 focuses on battery life as its biggest differentiator, but Xiaomi has also paired it with a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, long-term software support, and practical everyday hardware. While the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset positions it in the mainstream segment, the combination of an 8,000mAh battery and extended software support could make it an attractive option for users who prioritise endurance and longevity over flagship-level performance.
