Samsung has launched the Galaxy A08 in India, adding a new affordable smartphone to its Galaxy A series. The handset combines a 6,000mAh battery with a 50-megapixel rear camera, a 90Hz display, and MediaTek’s Helio G99+ chipset. Samsung is also putting a strong focus on long-term software support, promising six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
The Galaxy A08 enters the Indian market at Rs. 18,499, with its combination of a large battery, 90Hz display, expandable storage, and extended software support forming the core of its offering. The phone’s availability across Samsung’s own stores, partner retailers, and online platforms also gives buyers multiple ways to purchase it.

The Galaxy A08 is priced at Rs. 18,499 for the sole 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration. It is available in Dark Blue, Green, and Silver colour options. The smartphone can be purchased through Samsung Exclusive Stores, partner retailers, Samsung.com, and other online platforms. Samsung is also offering zero-interest EMI options of up to six months on eligible bank cards and up to nine months through NBFC partners.
Samsung Galaxy A08 Specifications
The Galaxy A08 features a 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99+ chipset and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded by up to 2TB using a microSD card, giving users considerably more room for photos, videos, and apps.
The smartphone runs Android 16-based One UI 9. Samsung has included several of its software and AI-related features, including Circle to Search 3.0, Gemini, and Perplexity. Users can access Gemini and Perplexity using voice commands or by long-pressing the power button. The phone also supports Quick Share, as well as Samsung’s Modes and Routines features.
For security, Samsung Knox protection is included to safeguard sensitive information such as passwords and biometric data.
The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary rear sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies and video calls, the Galaxy A08 features an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
Samsung has equipped the phone with a 6,000mAh battery supporting 25W fast charging. The Galaxy A08 measures 8mm in thickness and features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front. It also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
One of the Galaxy A08’s biggest selling points is its promised software support. Samsung says the phone will receive six generations of operating system upgrades along with six years of security updates. This could make the device a more practical option for buyers who intend to keep an affordable smartphone for several years.
