Samsung Galaxy A27 5G Announced With 120Hz Super AMOLED Display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, and Awesome Intelligence Ahead of July 3 Launch

Samsung has announced the Galaxy A27 5G, the latest addition to its Galaxy A series, ahead of its July 3 debut in select markets. Building on the Galaxy A26 5G, the new smartphone brings a refreshed Infinity-O display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and an expanded suite of AI-powered "Awesome Intelligence" features, alongside Samsung's long-term software support commitment.

Galaxy A27 Specifications And Features

The Galaxy A27 5G features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate and slimmer bezels, packed inside a 7.8mm slim chassis. Powering the device is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor built on a 4nm process, paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, along with microSD expansion of up to 2TB. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging and runs Android 16-based One UI 8.5. Camera duties are handled by a 50MP OIS primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro lens and a new 12MP front-facing camera. Samsung has also included IP64 dust and water resistance, Knox Vault security and promises six generations of Android OS upgrades alongside six years of security updates.

Awesome Intelligence Comes to More Users

Samsung is also expanding its AI experience to the Galaxy A27 5G. Circle to Search now supports multi-object recognition and virtual outfit try-ons, while Object Eraser has been improved for cleaner edits. Voice Transcription can now translate conversations in real time across 22 languages, and users can choose between Google Gemini, Perplexity and Bixby for AI assistance. Samsung says deeper integration with native apps like Gallery and conversational Bixby controls aim to make everyday tasks faster and more intuitive.

The Galaxy A27 5G doesn't introduce dramatic hardware upgrades, but Samsung is clearly doubling down on software longevity and AI. With six years of updates, a vibrant AMOLED display and practical AI features, the A27 5G looks like a strong all-rounder. The only missing piece now is pricing, which will ultimately determine how well it competes against rivals from OnePlus, Redmi and Motorola.
